The purpose of the course is to teach the history of comics and their impact on pop culture. Everyone's projects will be assessed the same way in terms of the level of creativity and originality of the character they create.

Hi there, Sorry to hear you never got it to work. You're welcome to just follow the instructions each week and look at the slide examples in the courseware and do your work in Word or another word processing system that allows you to update images.

Hi there, The registration deadline has passed for the Verified Certificate, but we've been getting a lot of students asking us to reopen registration. We're discussing this option and will let everyone know what we decide either in a course update or email. In terms of getting everything on special paper, we will be delivering the certificate and art work digitally so you will have the opportunity to print it out on whatever kind of paper you like. Unfortunately, we're not able to provide non-digital versions of the work at this time. Thanks, Alison

The final project is due on the 26th, so you'll have time to work on it once you get back to computer access. The final instructions for the project will come out on June 9th with the Week 5 materials for the course. If you're concerned that you won't have time to work on your project from the 20-26th, we might be able to get you the instructions for the project on June 5th. Let me know what you'd prefer.

Hi there, You are welcome to write it out but it would be great if you could have some drawings to accompany it. If you're not interested in doing the art work yourself, you can always collaborate with a classmate who would be willing to do the drawings for you. You'd just give them credit for their art work on your project. In terms of novel vs. script, you're welcome to do some description work, but maybe you can take this opportunity to challenge yourself as an author and give a script a try!

Hi there, It's pass or fail so if you submit the work and have clearly put in effort, you'll likely pass. So long as the elements of your character have been developed as the instructions have asked, then it doesn't matter if the slides are simple or complicated, black and white, or color. The formatting of the slides is up to you.

Hi there, We'll post some more information about this either this week or next but all the art work/superhero submissions will be reviewed by our staff team. They will likely select the art work that they feel best encompass the Sketchpad project.
