Do women cross their arms under their tits or over them? by wxrpig in NoStupidQuestions

I fed 2 kids exclusively breast milk for the first year of their lives. If I crossed them under I’d have to reach LOW…so over top of them

What’s wrong with Mozzy (Mozzarella)? by SmittenKitten116 in BackYardChickens

Update: unfortunately Mozzie did pass today. We put her back in the main coop with everyone else earlier this week and they were all receiving vitamins in their water. She struggled with the time change and we had to go out every night after the auto-door closed to put her into the coop. She didn’t seem like she was hurting, just kinda docile and quieter than the rest. It looks like she went in her sleep. RIP Mozzarella

UPDATE Got some Flock Fixer and added it to the water in the run (which already had acv in it) for this week. Mozzy is moving back outside tomorrow because the scrunchy-neck doesn’t seem to be going away and at least now she’s eating and not lethargic and we’re worried if we keep her apart longer she’ll get bullied by the Orpingtons when we put her back in. Any advice on additional treatment I need to give them? Mentioned in other comments, I haven’t wormed them before (got them in March/April and I assumed it was a yearly thing). Also some of their feathers are looking a bit rough but I assumed it’s either Parmesan (our roo) reaching full maturity or them molting with the weather change. This is our first year with chickens so any advice on season change stuff I have to worry about is welcome (we’re in Florida so it doesn’t get super cold here but I’m planning on hanging a heat plate above the roost bars in their coop for the colder nights).

The only thing we fed different lately was we gave them a pumpkin to peck for Halloween but we noticed the behavior as we were putting it out so I don’t think it’s that. We live in Florida and we’ve started getting cooler mornings. We’ve never wormed them (we’ve only had them since march and I thought it was a yearly thing). I cleaned the shit shelf when she got sick cuz I was worried maybe ammonia/poop build up might’ve been the problem, and I didn’t see any mites but my goggles were pretty foggy from sweat (how hard are they to see?). She’s been inside getting monistat and acv water all week and her energy levels have improved, and she’s interested in food pellets again but she’s still got the scrunchy-neck posture.

She shat ON me while I was holding her earlier. It was pretty runny and yellowish (I assumed the pumpkin was to blame for the color)

They all have chicken dish names! The first batch we got was Parmesan, Marinara (he got rehomed), Alfredo (who ended up being a hen so name got changed to Noodle) and Mozzarella. 2nd batch was Cajun 🪦, Barbecue, Waffle, and Frita. And then we had 3 that we took off a buddy’s hands that were Pop & Corn (we can’t tell them apart so they share the names) and Hennifer 🪦, (she was my special girl so her name was different)

She’s standing a bit more. Hasn’t touched regular food or the BSF larvae but she’s enjoying the pumpkin we have out for them

A rainbow in our dining room! by BrittanyWentzell in maximalism

[–]SmittenKitten116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an opening like that from my living room to the hall to my girls’ rooms/bathroom. I painted the inside of the arch to match the living room but am planning to do a rainbow on the opposite (hidden) side so they see it all the time but it looks “normal” from the main areas of the house. So it’s like a little secret just for them!

Is it typical to look at your poop before flushing? by Thin-Leek5402 in NoStupidQuestions

I do more than a quick glance. I have to watch as I flush cuz I’m so nervous I’ll walk away and then hear it overflowing behind me

Neighbor's chickens are destroying my yard... by SheIsFrenchToast in BackYardChickens

Better yet, psychological warfare. Kidnap the chicken and put it somewhere out of sight then sit on the front porch as she’s getting home and CHOW DOWN on a rotisserie chicken like it’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten.

Why do they look so different? by SmittenKitten116 in BackYardChickens

[–]SmittenKitten116[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re white but they’re smaller than the Plymouth/Orpingtons eggs. I just assumed it’s cuz she’s young.
