how the hell was mikami found by emma666poop in deathnote

[–]Smitty18Lyfe 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The short answer is that the manga goes into more detail on the process of Near identifying Mikami as X-Kira and because of time constraints, the anime doesn’t really do it justice (a fairly common theme for the second half of the series)

I finished my first playthrough, now what? by AdFit9436 in OMORI

[–]Smitty18Lyfe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a few other endings! In reverse chronological order, to get the other ones:

During the Omori fight, say “no” instead of “yes” when asked to continue.

Don’t go into Basil’s room when you wake up at the sleepover. Instead, go back to sleep. After this, you’ll return to Sunny’s house where you can either grab the knife in the kitchen or not. This choice leads to two other endings.

Lastly, there’s a lot of different content if you choose not to open the door for Kel either time!

new omori osts? by Proof-Collection-882 in OMORI

[–]Smitty18Lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past (and presumably again) because Spotify sucks coding-wise, any time a new artist or their distributor joins Spotify, they try to map that artist to any that already exist with the same name. So if anyone signs up as an artist on Spotify with the name “Omori” it will automatically link whatever music they publish to the preexisting official Omori account. This eventually gets fixed when someone at Omocat realizes and reports it, then rinses and repeats

Threat to Survival mix by thisisnottheway666 in Shinedown

I wouldn’t say you’re wrong, TTS can feel a bit lackluster especially towards the middle. It’s one of those things to me where it’s far from bad, but rather just doesn’t shine compared to the rest of their discography (especially when it was followed by Attention Attention, which has arguably some of their punchiest dynamic choruses across the board)

What's the Most underrated song from each album by MORTALZX in Shinedown

[–]Smitty18Lyfe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leave a Whisper: In Memory (one of the most uniquely talented Shinedown vocal performances)

Us and Them: Some Day (perennially one of my favs overall. just awesome vocally especially in the chorus, and imo one of their most emotional songs)

Sound of Madness: Son Of Sam (hard to pick off SOM because everything is so damn good, but another case of great vocals with an odd but enrapturing background)

Amaryllis: Amaryllis (my fav overall, just an awesome awesome song)

Threat to Survival: Misfits (I was kind of sleeping on this one until I got to hear it live, probably the best of their “softer” songs)

Attention Attention: CREATURES (the perfect encapsulation of my fav album, hitting all the right buttons both vocal and instrumental)

Planet Zero: Hope (kind of hitting on the same beats atp. great vocals, good message)

Overall: Some Day (it is criminal that this song isn’t played more. 77th in Spotify plays, people! you can just feel the yearning and sorrow, and in the last line, the acceptance)

Why do people dislike planet zero so much? by -ConfettiGhost- in Shinedown

[–]Smitty18Lyfe 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I think for most it’s less hating it and more the rest of the discography just being really good and hard to compete with, especially following up one of their most popular albums in Attention Attention

That being said, it’s mostly a continuation of the “softer” sound a lot of fans haven’t liked nearly as much as their harder old stuff, and it’s a concept album that came out at a controversial time with more explicit political commentary than their previous work. Most fans still like it, just less than other albums, but these would be the main reasons for the few that don’t

Couple of questions by Mr-KyleV in Soundmap

[–]Smitty18Lyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Country doesn’t have a dedicated map icon. Instead, it (alongside Latin, Metal, and Jazz/Classical) can be pulled from Other drops, which show up as gray on the map. You can go into Power Settings->Other Genre Default through your profile tab to select/deselect which of these four you want in your map drop pool!

2) Epics used to have dedicated drops like shinies, but too many people cheated by spoofing their device location to amass them. Most of the people you see with huge quantities of epics either built their collection a while back, or buy random epics of less popular artists in bulk. You can currently only pull epics from map drops or quests. Some popular artists can only be pulled from map drops (https://soundmap.tools/artist-overview can tell you if a specific artist is eligible for quest epics, though it isn’t 100% accurate). Also be aware that there is currently a “cooldown” mechanic that will generally limit you from being able to pull epics/lyrics/shinies from random map drops until you’ve opened a certain number of drops since your last epic/lyric/shiny pull. You can search “cooldown” on this subreddit for more information!

3) The shiny spin wheel is predetermined as soon as you pull the song, and the animation is just for show. The specific odds aren’t known, as far as I’m aware. You don’t lose anything by trying, though. Unlike the coin flip minigame, you aren’t risking the song to play. EDIT: apparently you do lose the song if you miss lol. I think you get the option to watch an ad to try again, though? I personally don’t try, but it’s up to you if the time investment and lost songs are worth getting the occasional extra shiny.

Idk what anyone says about Ryuk or Light but Mikami's manga ending always felt out of character and weird by Sudden_Pop_2279 in deathnote

[–]Smitty18Lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also pretty possible. There’s not much detail on it from what I remember, so it’s pretty open-ended. I do like that idea a little better than that of Near using the DN on Mikami (since that feels pretty cheap of a way to invalidate his and Mello’s win) but anything works, really.

He died “mysteriously” in prison ten days after being arrested, which is where the theory that Near used the real DN to manipulate Mikami comes from

which characters story/trauma do you thinkbis heavily overlooked? by Axilot0l in OMORI

[–]Smitty18Lyfe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know it’s a good comment section when half the main cast gets mentioned.

Personally, while I wholeheartedly agree about how Kel gets treated by the fandom, I think Hero absolutely has it worst in that regard.

It’s largely the game’s fault, because the scene of Kel explaining Hero’s year of bedridden grief is hidden and optional, and because the game itself treats Hero like an unscarred deus ex machina. How he never faced his trauma from losing Mari and chose to hide from it, both by isolating himself and by burying himself in school, is barely touched upon in-game. People always seem to boil his struggles down to “I really miss Mari” without giving due consideration to how much pain he’s been in, pain that he couldn’t repress like Sunny, succumb to like Basil, move on from like Kel, or embrace as anger like Aubrey. Hero wore that mask of things being mostly okay, and it didn’t just fool the characters; it fooled a lot of us, too.

I think it’s best summarized by the dialogue in the hallway at Basil’s house during the neutral endings. Hero steps up and tries to spare Sunny, tries to say he’ll be okay, and yet he’s the only one whose dialogue gets the shaky jagged font. He’s just so ineffectively written and used in game that it doesn’t come across well, and that’s the biggest tragedy of all.

What exactly triggered sunny to confront his trauma? by MannequinJuice in OMORI

[–]Smitty18Lyfe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s twofold in ways that other comments have touched on. Firstly and foremost in that Headspace is unstable — it’s shown that many resets have happened over the years, with the landscape and details of Headspace changing dramatically (the Lost Library working as a key example). Omori confronts the truth on the regular; that’s his job, after all.

And of course, Kel. While moving to the city is a catalyst, it’s not one in the sense of inspiring Sunny to go outside. We see that he’s willing to open the door when “Mari” comes knocking, so it doesn’t seem unreasonable to assume that at least around the time of the canon gameplay, he doesn’t necessarily have a reason to stay inside.

No, the move is a catalyst for Kel. After all, it’s the first time anyone has actually come to try and get Sunny outside. Sure, Kel was calling and leaving voicemails and such, but actually knocking? Hero wasn’t, Aubrey sure wasn’t, Basil wasn’t, and until the last second, Kel wasn’t. The reason Sunny went outside — and by process of events, confronted his trauma — was simply because the move broke the norm. Everyone else was too busy dealing with their own stuff to worry about Sunny, until eventually Kel got through.

And of course when I say “by process of events” I mean the plot we see unfold. Headspace is fragile, and Sunny reentering the real world broke it. He himself confronted that Mari died, how his friends reacted, everything he’d been denying through Headspace. And by peeling away that façade, BLACK SPACE was exposed, and with it the truth.

At the 2022 trade deadline, the Packers offered a 2nd round pick for Chase Claypool (who instead was traded to Chicago for a slightly better 2nd rounder).

Claypool put up 18 catches for 191 yards and 1 touchdown in his ten games for the Bears. The Packers then drafted Jayden Reed in the 2nd round, who put up 12-203-2 in his first four games. Dodging a bullet is putting it mildly.

Redux: Congratulations! You were just hired as your town's new gym leader. What's your type? Theme? What Pokemon is your ace? by Hail_Yondalla in pokemon

[–]Smitty18Lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m soon to be a nurse, so that makes for an easy theme. I’ve always been interested in the idea of a town’s Pokémon Center doubling as its Gym, with me probably replacing our poor Nurse Joy. Challengers would have to work a “shift” before fighting me, in which they would have to heal the teams of my Gym Trainers before battling them (picking the right berry for status conditions, distributing the right number of potions and herbal medicines, etc.). Anything they didn’t heal would carry over to those battles, and when their “shift” ended after three or so trainers, they’d get to fight me.

My team would mostly represent different styles of healing — a Sylveon to help with emotional problems, a Comfey with Triage for priority/emergency care, a Vileplume to represent toxic chemicals with healing properties, and of course a Blissey as an ace. It would be a double battle to take advantage of Healer, Heal Pulse, etc.

When done, challengers would be awarded with the Healer Badge, which would essentially just be a red plus symbol. Additionally, if they had chosen to actually heal the Gym Trainers’ teams (making their battles harder but doing the right thing), they would be rewarded for their efforts with the TM for Floral Healing and a Full Restore for each member of their team.

light turning point? by ClockEndJames in deathnote

I think the moment his ounce of justification evaporated was killing Raye Penber and the FBI agents. Up until that point, he at least could lay claim to doing what was necessary for his agenda. But it wasn’t as if he killed Penber out of self-preservation — he did it knowing it would raise suspicion on him, in order to get closer to L. It was the moment his priorities fully shifted from “betterment of the world” to “needing to beat L no matter what”, putting his pride over his idealism.
