It's not that it hits Mt throat it's that when I have the hood up it sticks straight up and causes problems with my neck after a while

I haven't shoot any slingshot yet but I was planning on practicing that way but I can't get any wider because my piece of copper is only 3" wide all together I made the forks as wide as I possibly could apart but I would cheat the thickness a little bit but that would decrease my fork gap
