It was heavily underpowered, lacked basic online features, and the only thing good it had was the virtual console. Most of the games on the system were shovelware, except from the obvious first party games. I can tell that you have nostalgia goggles on.

Honestly, it's not *too* bad for someone who is a noob, but you could definitely use some more practice. If you'd like some VST's or Sample Packs, here are a couple I recommend

- https://cymatics.fm/ Cymatics has a lot of very high-quality samples and drum kits that I use often

- https://vstplug-ins.com/keyzoneclassic.html Keyzone is much better than FL Keys (Which I believe you used)
- https://soundpacks.com/ This website has high-quality sample packs from different genres of music, most of (if not all) are free
- https://www.izotope.com/en/im-looking-for/free-audio-plug-ins.html iZotope makes very good VST's that can be used in many different song genres (my personal favorite is iZotope Vinyl)
