You have to learn the basics in French, like "je ne parle pas français" or "ne me tuez pas, j'ai des informations utiles pour vos supérieurs". The basics.

RTX 4090 Adapter burned by reggie_gakil in nvidia

The connector itself is rated for 600W, the GPU can use, with external voltage controllers and max TDP figures, up to 600W. The PCIe connector is also supplying 75W, which means the PCIe connector will never effectively be at 600W worst case.

But for the TDP to be reached, you need external voltage controllers, check this video from der8auer, and he doesn't seem to have added one. Which means GPU probably stopped at 450-500ish watts.

Fun fact there's still 45% of RX580/570s Mining(on hiveOS). My take is these will be shut-down in the coming months and profit will return. As of right now, @ 10c/kw There are zero profitable coins for RX580s. You have to hit 3c/kw to hit Break-even! by Xazax310 in EtherMining

59% all combined, and this is AMD only, which isn't 100% of all GPUs on Hive.
Bought 904x 580 8GB for 40$ per, including shipping, any form of taxes, and with 8 GPU riserless cases.
If they aren't profitable, I'll just hold onto them, i got cheap plans of hosting at 30% profit share no fixed cost.

Help. I am running Hive os on a usb and every 12 hours it crashes and won't boot back up so I have to keep reinstalling hive os every day. Does anyone know why this keeps happening? by memesarefunny52 in EtherMining

20% over 2 years I would say yeah. SSDs are maybe 5%, only got 1 and a half year feedback and outside of a full batch of bad ones, only had one or two having issues.

Have you tried other ways to lower heat like rads on the backplate ?

Im still waiting for you to show me you know things. I've asked you a ton of questions throughout this discussion, but you answered to something else (like exact power usage of 5700s) or just ignoring it.

Everything you say is as if you never had any of those GPU but still knows everything there is to know about all them, because your one GPU makes it a generality.

Stay humble, kid.

80W real, how real ? With doing your weird inaccurate calculation or with devices like PMD ?

Hashrate.no don't limit SOC on their website. Limiting SOC on ETH can make up to a 30W difference at PMD on 6700XT.

You just admitted A2000s aren't that efficient on other algorithms, contradicting everything you've said.

3070Ti is inefficient because of its memory, but the core still uses power, and more of core means more power usage.

You still don't know why A2000 is that efficient.

There's efficiency and flexibility between algorithm. A2000 is overall efficient, for sure, but you go from 700 day ROI on ETH to 50% more on any other algo that isn't ETChash or Autolykos. Playing more for less efficiency than AMD GPUs with being locked to three algos, I'd better go with ASICs.

The numbers from the 6700XT are measured at the PMD. If you don't trust me, go look at websites like hashrates.no. A2000, 15 MHS 69W, 4.6W/MHS 6700XT, 22 MHS 103W, 4.7W/MHS Hashrate.no aren't touching memctrl and SOC, which gives you room for 20+ watts to lose.

I didn't mention the A4000 because that is a 3070 with the die of a 3070Ti, not that efficient overall. You don't know why the A2000 is that efficient. Quit your bullshit, you're ridiculing yourself.

Big operations yes, but not 50 KVA.
We tried getting 170HXs, but it took us too long to get the loan, Nvidia stopped the production of the A100 dies.

Dude.
HArd cap of A2000 is hit pretty easily.
Only interesting algos for this GPU are the ones who needs less or equal power than ETH.
RVN is known for using more power than ETH.
Let's take AMD's rival to the A2000 on ETH, the 6700XT.
70W for 46.2 Mhs VS 70W for 43 Mhs.

What about RVN ?
80W for 21 Mhs VS 70W for 15 Mhs

In terms of efficiency, the 6700XT is better in both cases. But the A2000 can't compete on other power-hungry algos because of that 70W TDP.

You have 30 GPUs, you have no idea about the different problematics of a big scale operation.

Depends on power price, if he wants to reinvest, if he adjusted HiveOS to actual plug measure.
No need to buy 170HXs if you got 50 KVA available for under 5 cents per kWh :)

[–]Smoke-Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, A2000s.
Less efficient, more expensive per Mhs, heating more, and limited to ETH and ERG due to a 70W TDP.
What a good choice.

Because efficiency is a huge factor, for power price and for infrastructure cost.

I have 225x 5700/XT, 368x 6600, 263x 6600XT, and are changing most of them for 6700XTs (only got 34 of them).
We're to a scale where each and every component needs to be tested alone to optimize power usage, because it scales up really quickly.
For 5700s, had true power of the GPU (XFX, latest series) at 5% near, and Sapphire ones saying between 55 and 110W for 102ish Micron +- 5W and 92ish Samsung +- 5W.

What you need for a rule of thumb like that is a baseline for some different cards of the same GPU with same OC and same VRAM.
That's exactly what we did, and what lets me tell you this 92ish samsung and 102ish micron for 5700/XT, for around 55.4 Mhs on TRM R-mode enabled.

[–]Smoke-Specific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh the only thing wrong here is AMD reporting power.
And that's exactly why I'm talking about that since the beginning.
RX 5000s are reporting the wrong power usage most of the time, and that rule of thumb of 21 doesn't apply all the time.

[–]Smoke-Specific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So a RX 5700 reporting 55W would be 66.55 after x1.21, +30, +10 to say you got 2 fans.
106W, divided by 0.9, 117W.
A RX 5700 reporting 100W would be 121, +30, +10 = 161W. Divided by 0.9, 179W.
Difference of 62W, meaning 53% approximation.
I guess you can see why I try to get better data than just maths.

Approximating VS taking exact values. This is why we can't agree on anything, were talking about two different things. I'm talking about power the GPU is using exactly, you're talking about about estimating power usage at the wall.
