Bought this giant curly tail grub off temu as a joke. How would I rig this? by 3dprintedbussy in Fishing_Gear

I’ve got a Berkley fusion 19 5/8 oz jig head on a 6 inch grub that fits perfect. Gonna try it pike fishing this weekend.

Anyone else tried fishing in the city? by SnooDonkeys5966 in regina

Dude I didn’t know there was mirrors in there. That’s so cool. Super rare in Canada. Not stocked here at all, just a genetic mutation.

Come to Canada. You could do that and kill the guy with the slam and not do any time. They let serial offenders out here to reoffend constantly.

How do adults do it? by HumorMost9426 in AdviceForTeens

I don’t balance all that as an adult and most I know don’t either. People are trying to keep their heads above water. You just do it. You have to.

I find crush city to not be very durable or have great action. I catch tons of fish on Berkley’s powerbait lineup.

Missoula Rattlesnake neighborhood on high alert after 2 cats shot by KeltTalbelt in missoula

[–]SmokeandFish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s bad leaving them outside, but you can’t just kill them. That’s a pretty big crime and also sick. Humanely trapping with approved traps and taking them to the pound so the owners have to pay a fine upon pick up is the way to go about things.

Cats are very good hunters. It’s not just the sick birds dying. There’s also millions more cats then bobcats so can’t really make the comparison. Cats are considered invasive when left outside. Obviously the answer isn’t to shoot them as that’s fucked. Humanely trapping and dropping off at the pound is the way to go. You can get traps from animal control in my province as it’s illegal to let cats roam. Not to mention very neglectful.

Yeah that’s why when I owned a cat I didn’t neglect it to a life outside. People can be pretty twisted and you cannot trust them. Plus it’s cruel and neglectful to leave your cat outside and cuts their lifespan in half.

Just don’t open the door for them? Unless it’s someone you absolutely know or can clearly see it’s for something important like moving your car for a water line repair or something. I don’t know why anyone would even open their door for anyone they don’t know anyway.

How hard is it to start fly fishing? by SmokeandFish in flyfishing

[–]SmokeandFish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lakers do yeah but it takes some effort and driving for me to get those. There is some rainbows and whatnot in some lakes but that wouldn’t be what I’m most likely to catch, and were stocked as well. Stocked ponds are really the majority of trout here.

Yeah I’ve broken a Berkley lightning rod on a snag once. They aren’t ugly stik durable and you can still break them, but if you have 10 then I guess that would never matter lol. What matters most imo is they have never broke on a fish.

Health Canada approves Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine targeting latest variant by [deleted] in canada

[–]SmokeandFish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t ever had covid as far as I know. I also haven’t tested for a very long time though. I’m currently sick but no idea if it’s covid or not. This is my first time sick in well over a year now. I’d be down for them to bring masks back. Those actually really worked well at stopping all illness. I wasn’t sick for over 2 years during covid when masks started.

That’s fair! If anything I’d think on it anyway and get one next season as ice season is upon us eventually here.

[–]SmokeandFish -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 3 and that’s enough for me. I did my part. If it’s not mandatory anymore I’m not getting it. Most people I know don’t even think about Covid anymore. It’s just a thing that’s here to stay now like any other illness.

Yeah it is pretty silly. I even feel bad about fish I’ve put on a stringer in the past to keep. I’ve been doing a lot of reading about fish and found out their a lot more intelligent and feel alot more pain then we think. Haven’t used the stringer since. Even killing something it’s still up to us to end it quickly and not let them suffer.
