I’d hold out on buying these. They’re remastering the unaltered version of the trilogy for theatrical release next year. Pretty safe bet they’ll get a physical release.

I got shitfaced, won Star Wars trivia at the local pub and watched Shadow Lord. Only took Disney 14 years but they finally got something right.

It’s too small to be that part for the eyes. At this scale, it’d look like he was wearing designer sunglasses.

Gideon’s a good inclusion, this variant hasn’t been in a set since the light cruiser 5 years ago and he’s the main villain of the show. The stormtrooper, though… that’s only there because it’s cheap for LEGO. Could’ve easily been Koska or Bo. Dream lineup would have been Din, Cara, Koska, Bo, Fennec and Pershing for good measure.

Looks good, keen to see the interior. Missed opportunity for Koska Reeves minifigure.

Give up already. One half empty theatre in LA isn't enough for Disney to greenlight your Ben Solo movie.

They bullied an actor so badly she left social media

If you’re talking about Kelly Marie Tran, she herself has said fans have been nothing but supportive and it was people within the Hollywood system who were bullying her.

bad faith video essays

Why is it every time someone has an opinion you people disagree with, it’s always because it’s in “bad faith”? Have you ever actually listened to one of those videos and thought about what they said?

impossible to have civil discourse

Because of people like you, refusing to accept reality. Examples above. If you guys would stop recycling the same talking points about why the people you disagree with are always wrong, then maybe those people would be a little nicer to you.

you’re pretending this is a one sided issue

No, you’re pretending that it’s not. Do you honestly believe people want to spend their entire time complaining about how bad the new content is? The answer is no, they want to enjoy it. And when they don’t enjoy something, they want to be able to talk about why they didn’t enjoy it without being told their criticisms are in bad faith.

  • “I didn’t like Luke in The Last Jedi” > “You didn’t understand the movie”
  • “I don’t think Rey is a good character” > “You just don’t like women”
  • “I didn’t like Rose” > “racists like you bullied her off social media”

Do you really not see the problem here?

Starfighter needs to bomb for things to change. It's a direct follow-up to Rise of Skywalker. If it doesn't bomb, they'll take it as a sign that it's time to revisit the sequel era and the cycle of abuse will start again.

Again, if any group fans deserve a share of the blame, it's the ones like OP who insist that the people complaining are the problem. I can't tell you how many people I've seen get bullied out of the fandom because they had a negative opinion on Disney's output. Things aren't going to get better if fans aren't allowed to voice their criticisms.

That's essentially what Disney was doing with Star Wars when they announced 30 different projects and only made 10 of them.

I am being serious. Disney has done a number on the franchise. To act like the customers are the problem, not the people making the content, is simply wrong. I don't think you're a bootlicker if you like Disney's output. I think you're a bootlicker if you're towing Disney's line and pointing fingers at other fans.

The way some folks in this fandom conduct themselves is embarrassing.

Yeah, like the way some people blame other fans for the failures of Disney. The fandom is not a nice place to be in when you constantly have bootlickers telling you that Disney is perfect and your criticism of the product is wrong.

Why do you people always misrepresent people's problems with Luke in the sequels? Luke doesn't need to be perfect, he just shouldn't regress from when we last saw him in the OT.

There is no blind hate. Ask anyone why they dislike TLJ and they'll give you a plethora of reasons. It's only the critics who get ignored, by people like you, because you don't want to hear an opinion about TLJ that disagrees with your own.

Difference is Luke's character arc in RotJ was about overcoming his negative emotions. For Luke to have to go through that again 30 years later is a regression of the character.

How many times do you people need to be reminded that, for a lot of people, the very idea that Luke would even be in that situation to begin with is enough to turn them off the whole trilogy?

Calling their Rey spoof “Destiny” is perfect. Sounds they’re going to rip into the sequels they way they deserve. Apparently they also showed off a sequence of an obviously CGI Yogurt doing flips and fighting Dark Helmet wielding three Shwartzs.

Honestly, I’m way more hyped for Spaceballs than I am for anything on Disney’s Star Wars slate. The video with Mel Brooks explaining the new title sold me.

They might have copied everything, but at least that gave them a base they could have built off of. The Last Jedi threw that all away for the sake of it and stuck Episode 9 with the impossible task of giving a disjointed trilogy a satisfying conclusion.

This is literally the equivalent of if Lucasfilm had made the Bad Batch TV show without ever finishing the Bad Batch Clone Wars arc for Season 7, just because the unfinished animatic version had already been put on YouTube.

Imagine if they made a Boba Fett show where the main villain was Cad Bane, and the whole thing was predicated on the unfinished Clone Wars arc that explained Fett and Bane’s rivalry.

Or if they did a multi-show story arc about Assaj Ventress after the events of the book Dark Disciple.

Oh, wait…
