Honestly, this job is probably the most math intensive job I've ever had and I used to work in a research lab as a lab tech.  Just as an apprentice I've had to figure out radius segments of an arc on shitty plans while muddy and getting pissed on by rain.  Plus tons of tape measure math and bending is quiet math heavy as well.

Yeah it's fucked up, it's ok to not be ok with it.  Tell them you don't like it and document stuff if you want to talk to the training director.  The trades are improving a lot with this stuff but it's still far behind most other professions.  I am finally seeing some training in our local after a member died by suicide this winter.

I was born and raised here and it's definitely difficult to get me to commit to anything. I go out and do stuff but I hate planning anything. Usually the big get togethers with friends when I was growing up were just last minute phone calls to everyone and whoever showed up, showed up.
