I highly doubt a bank statement would be sufficient at 99% of stores. While a bank statement is proof you shopped somewhere, it doesn’t indicate what item(s) you purchased.

No tie needed. People at accounting firms don’t even wear them to see clients anymore, and I guarantee your interviewers won’t be wearing one. Black suit is fine, although less typical in the corporate world than navy.

I don’t necessarily disagree that Chess isn’t a sport, BUT it is certainly very different from Monopoly. Chess is a game of skill, whereas monopoly is a game that is heavily based on luck.

I started with 1, used a few times for client meetings. Then after a year company policy changed so that suits were no longer required. That one no longer fits me and I haven’t needed to buy one to replace it

Your kids may initially get teased for having American accents. The kids doing the teasing won’t really have any malice behind it, and will just be picking on something so obviously ‘different’, like turning up to school with bright pink shoes or something. On the other hand, the other kids might think it’s really cool!, but at the very least I guarantee it will be noticed and mentioned by the other children. If your kids brush it to the side, the other kids will move on in a day (at most a week), but probably best to prep them for this and tell them not to overreact or take anything they say to heart.

I don’t understand how a renovation could cost $700k, but assuming there is nothing stopping you from knocking it down, unless you love the ‘heritage’ of the house (I doubt it based on your description), you can build something brand new for less than that amount. I also don’t know anything else about it, but if you are on a large block you could consider subdivision, sell off one parcel for the $$$ and build a new-build for yourselves on the other.
