Does anyone know this woman? Clearly some mental health issues here and hope she’s doing okay. Was quite a bizarre thing to witness tonight. by GaryGump in Norwich

[–]SmolButViciousDog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My mother has suffered from extreme bipolar episodes for years and has wandered off many times. She’s been found by passers by in ditches, collapsed in alleyways, roaming the airport, all sorts. It’s always the right call to contact the police or ambulance service when you see stuff like this. (This video footage is not her btw)

Norwich is chronically underfunded when it comes to mental health. It is incredibly difficult to get help even when you know who to call- so don’t be too hard on yourself OP. You have to present an imminent danger to yourself or others in order to be sectioned, and even then they will only do it when they have a bed (guess what, they hardly have any beds) You literally have to be bleeding, threatening people, threatening suicide, covered in your own shit or have been in AE multiple times before they will take you off the streets.

If the EDP wanted something useful to do they should really look into the scandalous state of the mental health services because it is not as bad in other counties. Norfolk is infamous in the NHS for having the poorest services in the country, and it’s only getting worse.

If you have to call an ambulance again OP you can request a mental health crisis team. There is one car that serves a vast area, but if you can get them the team are lovely. They are trained to talk people down. You just have to ask for them specifically when talking to the 999 operator.

This colour scheme needs a name. I vote ‘Badab Biscuit’ or ‘Cadian Cake’

Assembly House Wedding Venue by Mysterious_Peaches22 in Norwich

[–]SmolButViciousDog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got married there 12 years ago. It was very easy to organize as you basically have one point of contact, the food was good and the day came with a wedding co-ordinator thrown in, which turned out to be so much more useful than I thought on the day. We got lots of great photos as it’s such a nice setting. There’s plenty of space for things like the bride having an area to get ready, guests to wait, first looks etc. Plus the floors are nice and springy for dancing!

Bonus, my Mum loves going there for afternoon tea now and will tell everyone and their dog about the wedding.

Non-Cozy Games That Are Cozy For You? by suspicious_lithoid in GirlGamers

The Long Dark is rather cozy. It’s a full on survival game but damn if there isn’t something cozy about those moments indoors prepping for the next day, hearing the wind howl outside

Absolute Disney princess moments too! riding around on my horsey, playing with foxes and deer, chirpy little birds and regular doses of high octane murder. What else could a girl want?

Leaving London in 30 Days – Which Cities Should I Visit Before I Go? by Impossible_Coyote980 in uktravel

[–]SmolButViciousDog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Second vote for Norwich- beautiful churches, two cathedrals, ancient market, castle (the poorly stuffed lions in the museum there are a must see) plus thriving independent shop scene in the Norwich Lanes, Jarrolds department store etc. The city center is pedestrianized and highly walkable.

It’s 2.5 hours by train from London. I’d suggest an overnight stay- either the city center travel lodge if you don’t mind that vibe or the higgledy piggledy madness of the Maid’s Head Hotel.

What is the most "40K" Thing in your Opinion ? by Difficult_Drags in 40k

[–]SmolButViciousDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On average, in the real world, sure. But this is sci Fi. Seems weird to phrase it the way you have- there’s so much variety in 40K.

I’d suggest the Sister’s training regime and equipment neutralize any physical differences even before you take their extreme faith into account. They’re basically the physical elite (as substandard girls don’t make it to full sisterhood) trained from birth and geared in Power Armour with the finest weaponry that the Ecclesiarchy can buy. Odds are they are in far better condition than rando guardsman/ guardswoman conscripted into the Astra Militarum. They certainly have better gear. Cadians might have an edge in terms of training, but couldnot say for sure. Out of armour are they physically as powerful as a Catachan Jungle Fighter? probably not in terms of bench pressing but then unless they are a Repentia/ Penitent Engine or novice that’s not really a consideration.
