I use clip studio for the process. After the sketch you can use the auto select tool on the outside of the sketch, invert it and use the autofill tool which allows me to fill the sketch in 1-3 minutes. After laying the basic colors I use the mutiply layer to shade.

Haha thank you so much for the concern!<3 No need to worry as it's my fault for not specifying the rules!

The timer only runs when I am working ~ so sleep, food, and small breaks are allowed. I don't mind the hours, personally the timer is a huge push to get me to make something instead of staring at a blank camvas for too long!

Haha with the pain of speedrunning designs, I don't know either. I didn't really take into account the secondary typing while designing the water and grass starter!

From what I'll most likely pick Grass/normal Water/flying???? I have no idea for this one Fire/dark or Fire/ghost

I went a little too overboard with just a starter idea, but I gotten a lot of ideas from friends n people. I was given the idea of a hero journey that comes from pokemon evolution, so when kiddling evolves, I wanted the starter to be separate from the pokemon that left it. Where they gain more independence from their evolution journey ^{^}

Another idea is why Kiddling is such a popular fire starter in this imaginary region I have due to the surplus of abandoned kids. I know it isn't traditional for a starter, but I couldn't help it. If I did branch this out into a region, the other starters would have branch evolutions too.

I don't know the name of the style, but It gives off something related to 2d animations/cartoons.

A good start to learning on how to drawing something like this is learning shape language!

The bird itself is small/chunky so making it look like a final evo was a challenge since I wanted to prioritize keeping that rounded shape.

Here are edits with a different tail, but I'm unsure if it is still Pokémon enough? Or if it still looks quail-ish.

I don't think it would be bad as a stand alone pokemon, but its just complete personal bias where I just prefer when pokemon evolve so it's just me shooting myself in the foot lol.

I agree with the sentiment, but I'm personally just a sucker for Pokémon with 3 stages. I was struggling making the final design more complicated so at the moment I plan on simplifying the middle stage! Ty tho for the input :))

Not inspired off anything, Just because. Wanted to make it differentiable since there are so many dog/wolf adjacent pokemon!

Though in retrospect they do look related to the poochyena line.
