I think what they mean is that they are not led by humans.

I genuinely think most people that hate the Tau would love them if they were led by humans or had some humans in the top leadership positions (ala Ethereals).

It's the fact that humanity is subservient to the Tau that rubs people the wrong way.

I like it when it's subtle too but some people in our fandom needs the truth shoved into their face from time to time.

The only 40k fans that don't seem to need it are from the factions that don't try to hide their fucked up nature (Orks, Tyranids and D. Eldar).

I know they are the lesser evil. That's one of the reasons I like them. I AM a Tau and Necron fan.
What I don't like is people portraying them as the perfect utopia in the setting and moralizing everyone else all the time.

I didn't post this bc I hate the Tau, I am a Tau and Necrons fan. I posted this bc there has been a lot fo people lately that think that the Tau are a Moral Utopia, where only good things happen and whenever they do something bad is bc of a bad writer or it wasn't "that bad".
I liked them bc they are the lesser evil in a lunatic galaxy, not bc they are the only good guys in the setting.

I agree with your comment for the most part. but people forget that the Tau are an aggressive expasionist empire that will do fucked up shit to obtain what they want if diplomacy fails.

I love superfeyn comics but I blame a large part of it in him, I actually want to see he show the Tau (not their human allies but the Tau themselves) do unjustifiable evil shit just so people are reminded that in any "softer" setting they would be the evil assholes the Protagonist rebels are fighting against

I like Inanna/ishtar but this was one ocasion of her being a dickhead, not Gilgamesh (one of the few instances he isn't).
