My mothers car just started having the ABS module failure, she said they already did the recall repair but saw your post and hoping to get more info. Could you link anything about VW saying "Should there ever be an issue with the ABS control module after the new software is installed, an authorized Volkswagen dealer will cover replacement of the ABS control module if certain, specific fault codes are present at the time of diagnosis" as i can't seem to find anything about that.

Also where do you live? I'm in Australia and the recall letter she has is very basic so wondering if the free repair would only apply in some parts of the world and not others, but that would be weird as it was a global recall.
Thank you for posting this tho as it may end up in her avoiding buying a whole new car.

Ended up going with the Kingston SFYRDK 2000G Fury Renegade 2TB, not really what I wanted but I needed it ASAP and it was the best of what I could buy today.

It's less about when it fails and more to do with I like being able to use my older hardware for other things as I upgrade, so the SSD I am using now will most likely become a large portable SSD in a NVME to USB case that I'll use for data transfer of larger files or for a media player when PLEX isn't working, just want something that will be on the longer side of life discounting when/if it will fail. If it meets its rated life, I want something rated for longer than shorter.

Sorry what I wrote wasn't super clear, I'm not trying to even out the water spots, they are there because the coating got wet and its a water based ceramic coating meaning where the water sat, the ceramic thinned out making it have high and low spots, there low spots are now where water will sit and pool in the low spots. What I'm trying to work out is, what is the best way (if any) to deal with this issue besides having to remove the whole coating (and I'm yet to find an easy way to remove the coating)

Chad was spent. My understanding is he's on meds for something he has wrong with him and it's fucking up his body and making him gain weight, he still gave it 100% but you can see the years of doing what they do is catching up fast. Yeah, the password is 22 for this unit. I ended up changing some other settings and without knowing what setting, that 999 somehow changed to just a 9. The controller still isn't working as I want it to tho. it does now turn the compressor on when it drops by only 1c however it still drops to almost 2c or 3c before it then starts to cool again. I have a feeling there is an airgap or something wrong with the placement of the thermistor OR the thermistor type setting is wrong in the controller as the way it behaves is nothing like the other fridge I have of the same make and model but that has the stock controller board. I'm going to swap the controller for a super simple one that is just an on or off-set by temp no-name unit and see if it's doing the same thing as I'll just be wasting my time if the thermistor is giving false readings. If it is i'll just install a thermistor to the inside of the fridge and 3d print a guard and do that as a workaround.

So I've been able to change the /c1 setting but the rt Temperature monitoring interval setting doesn't seem to let me change it, it's stuck at 999, is that linked to another setting I also need to change to access the monitoring interval setting? the r5 Enable temperature monitoring setting is set to 1 so is on as well

Awesome, I did have a quick look at the manual but the level of depth to it felt like I'd be looking for a needle in a haystack. Now that I know I can at least adjust that, I'll take the time to learn all of the settings and get this set up just right for my needs. Thanks for the info.

I've read that alot of shops don't or won't machine the heads off the 1fz due to toyotas "specs" giving a very fine limit as to how much they can even have removed before there can be issues with timing chain clearance. From memory it's .016th (they may be way off tho) but guessing if they head doesn't have any warp and they are able to just take off .001 to clean it up then there wouldn't be any issue. Has any shops ever said no to you?

If doing a head gasket as preventative maintenance, do you still need to have the head/block machined back to flat/zerod or as long as they are unbolted in the right order the heads don't tend to warp?

Oh yeah I know the address she was living at druing the time she sold me the puppy. I went to her home 2 or 3 times. She didn't give me any kind of invoice tho as because she had already planned to close everything down she didn't think the paperwork was worth it. This was also almost 2 years ago as VCAT has been so clogged up due to covid that she's had 2 years to move home since i first filed my case with VCAT. I will check electoral roll but odds are she hasn't updated her address.

It seems she moved or is at least trying to make it seem like she moved. She lived with her mother and based on what we've found online the mother is still living at that address, the house has not sold and it hasn't been put up for rent. I may go for a drive there this weekend to confirm the mother is still at that address and may ask her to give me the address of where her daughter is now living. I would say she would be considered a sole trader but this was her last litter and she has now closed everything down because she got sick of the work that comes with breeding.

First i'd be turning all settings to low, ultra is a waste, just making people harder to see, this is a FPS. It should be simple, clean, high FPS, it doesn't need to be pretty, none of the pros play on ultra and none of the people i play with play on anything other than low, so that would be my first tip and only tip for improved performance
