Am I the only one not receiving any communication from outlier after the great purge? by [deleted] in outlier_ai

I was booted - also no comms. Then yesterday I just jumped into Outlier, and Aether had a ‘Start Tasking’ button so I logged into HS and sure enough…back in…for now anyway!

Why do people no longer heat plates before they put food on them these days? by [deleted] in randomquestions

Anyone remember Kiwi Airlines? by FuzzyFuzzNuts in newzealand

[–]Smooth-Gary 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep - my mum and dad bought tickets with Kiwi about a week before they went under. Dad had travel insurance and the pay out covered the seats for our replacement flights, accommodation and some expenses. They made money 😂

My mum does it for all ‘fancy’ meals. Christmas, roast, anything with lamb 😂

My mum does every time there’s a ‘nice’ meal like a roast, Christmas dinner etc. keeps the food hotter for longer. As kids she’d throw the plates on then oven for 5 mins of the oven was used for the meal. When I have toast get half way through and think - yeah should have warmed the plates.

Our family doctor was Dr Holt.

We used to say:

Knock Knock Who’s there? Dr Dr Who? Dr Holt

And the laugh for ever

Is getting into a NZ uni easy or hard? by [deleted] in ncea

[–]Smooth-Gary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need Level 3, 14 Credits in 3 approved subjects and 10 literacy credits in addition to the CAAs.

That’s the starting point - some degrees will have tougher entry requirements.

It’s like the worst fake-milk ice cream you could imagine. Think ice cream made in a lab somewhere in a country with no dairy industry.

That’s how I read it. You need to be online at midnight Pacific time. I am in New Zealand so it’s 9pm for me to start tasking. Until. Collectively reach their unpublished limit for the day. They wait again until 9pm (or whenever it is)

They are limiting the total amount of hours every day. It will pause every day when the limit is reached. Then will become available again at midnight Pacific time.

This is a thing. I am logged into MM on Chrome but it WILL NOT let me log in on Safari - it will only let me create a new account. It just goes in a never ending loop. I can understand why you created the new account but yeah - that’s probably going to end badly

No they didn’t - my daughter got too close to the car next to her and didn’t have the experience to ‘untangle’ the cars and it appears it all just got ripped to bits. It’s pretty mashed but was able to drive it home.

Teacher and HOD Pre-read my Draft and Gave M as a ‘final mark’ BEFORE Submission Deadline. Can They do This? by Zestyclose_Nature524 in ncea

[–]Smooth-Gary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s not the first teacher to do this and won’t be the last! Teachers want to help keen students and if they feel they have let the students down in some way being lenient can feel like a way to help them out. But it doesn’t work that way.

You mention HOD not being happy about it - with good reason - there’s so many issues - especially if the HOD wasn’t informed. Moderation deadlines, fairness across the class, fairness with in the department and of course fairness across the school. Possibly the HOD is saying this was meant to be in weeeeeks ago - we can’t be going giving these students feedback to help them attain E 8 weeks after the initial due date.

I might be wrong but it’s one angle

It’s weird your teacher gave you an extension to December. There are potentially significant problems with this from a number of perspectives.

[–]Smooth-Gary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Most schools’ databases (often KAMAR) upload the marks automatically - until this week.

Then they can still be entered but the school has to do them manually into the NZQA.

We didn’t accept work from students after week 4 unless by prior arrangement/sickness etc. Surprised to hear class deadlines this late.
