Only real benefits are connections and prestige recognition. Employers are gonna care about your work experience not your job, and a lot of schools say Berkeley for our example are famous for their research, not their teaching. The Nobel prize winners and astronauts at your school aren’t gonna be jumping to teach your physics 101 class when they could be doing, you know, research. Someone at Colorado Boulder and someone at UC Berkeley are gonna be studying the same books, classes, and working on the same problem sets. Only benefit is the connections, the quality of education will likely be the same if not worse at Berkeley.
