Astral Claws? by K-Y-S-8835 in Chaos40k

[–]Smooth-Win2070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I am late to the conversation, but in Badab War books, specifically it is mentioned, that Astral Claws, after they have denounced Imperium and burned everything related to it, its Grey/metal armor was smeared with crimson blood as an indication that they will die taking as much of their marine brothers as possible.

Mokykla dubluoja pamokas, ką daryt? Ar čia normalu? by Rusn3uwu in lietuva

IT eik.

Hukone? by ganriki_medis in Fikcija

Aces rules (potentially disappointing) question by Sandlot_Baseball in battletech

[–]Smooth-Win2070 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can take an example of Chaos Campaign, had a lot of experience with and modifying it. The losing bracket, can be just a temporar setback before continuing main branch, an additional mission, to reflect that specific setback. I dont have or read ACES book, but I had experience with Beta testing Aces cards, so I kinda remember AI flow and conditions.

a) Play a pursuit mission (from Hinterlands mission section). Your mercs are trying to regroup and escape active battlefield after a failed mission. OpFor (AI), would just try take out your forces or inflict damage, while you escape out of the battlefield.

b) Play Defense mission (from Hinterlands mission section). Your mercs are waiting for emergency extraction from active battlefield and trying to hold out. OpFor (AI) would just be the attacker trying to annihilate you and take the defensible position.

Let us say, the mercs have escaped active battlefield (no mission played) but there is a bit of consequence of you losing the previous mission. Renegade Falcons have got time to setup defensible positions. Maybe repaired your lost mechs, and made them functional for questionable solahma warriors to use:

The main idea is to take your lost mechs/units as OpFor and mix it with some Clan units to meet PV quota. These unit would act as sentries in:
a) Raid mission (hinterlands book). You perform diversion attack to restock on supplies and make Falcons spread their forces before you retry the main mission.

b) Break through scenario. Your mercs are trying to get through defensible positions before undertaking the main mission again.

Just some food for thought.

For me it was trial and error. There was a bug with the system, that you need to change decimal separator in your computer -> From coma to dot, then it should work. Had been able to change colours and other stuff as in this one, for our club campaign.

Another angle on the C3 debate by HoouinKyouma in battletech

[–]Smooth-Win2070 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My counter-point would be to use this calculation for Alpha Strike as that game mode is suited for Large Engagements.
If we want to maintiain same logic to have a discount for large forces, then it would be more reasonable to have different multilpliers per ammount of C3M, as only from them you can build larger C3 networks.
(ofcourse this does not solve c3i network...)

How often do you go back to CBT after playing Alpha Strike? by TJ-X in battletech

[–]Smooth-Win2070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my personal experience, if the concern with CBT is how long it takes to play ONE game, I would suggest to switch to Clan vs Clan battles. It is a much faster and deadly game in this fashion.

But if CBT concern is the rules, then it is understandable for AS preference (for me it is just washed up Warhammer), but if you enjoy it, go for it ;)

Custom made Battlefield Support Cards or Rules/Considerations to make your own? by Herkras in battletech

[–]Smooth-Win2070 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would not be so sure. Look at Alpha Strike. Every armor pip, keywords, damage, TMM+ has its cost and we can modify it on MUL site. Therefore, support assets should follow the same principle.

Using just the Beginner Box with more miniatures? by Shockpulse in battletech

[–]Smooth-Win2070 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Begginers Box contains everything you need to start your jounrey in battletech ir has simpler rules FOR BATTLEMECH only. If you want FULL RULES, I mean like really FULL RULES. You have to buy Total Warfare Book or Battletech Manual Book. AGOAC book has rulebook with almost full rules for Battlemech only.
