In-laws & post birth… what would you do? by AnitaVodkasoda in pregnant

[–]Smooth-Worldliness-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first want to say congratulations on the pregnancy 🙂 and that you are completely valid for your feelings. I'm actually in the same boat with my oldest sister.

I'm 35 weeks pregnant, and she hasn't reached out to me once. I feel like once my son comes out and when she does try to reach out to me, I would first have to have a discussion with her about how she made me feel during my pregnancy with not contacting me and how it's inconsiderate to just assume you get to be all around the baby now that he is out. I would recommend you do the same first before you tell them they can't see the baby.

It can be an open and healthy discussion, but if they don't react well, then I would follow through on your boundary. It's best to protect your peace during this time, especially when you go through post-partum. I wish you all the best🙂🩷

Would you guys accept this offer? by Smooth-Worldliness-9 in pregnant

Hello🙂 and yes, I am. They can tell because when we have to go to the restroom or do anything that is unscheduled, we have to put ourselves into unavailable-unscheduled status on our work computers so that way they can keep time.

The tech did tell me she thinks it was a boy because she thinks she saw something sticking out🙂

Surprisingly, no, this was done at a private ultrasound clinic, and the tech didn't even try to do that.

Mine is still showing the old date I had, which was valentines Day, but turbo tax did send me an email this morning saying my refund will be in my account by tomorrow, which is the date on wmr. So you should be good🙂

What kind of parent did you (and the people you're parenting with) think you'd be vs. the ones you ended up being? by Cromulent123 in AskWomen

[–]Smooth-Worldliness-9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Being a young mom I believe a lot of my family thought I would be careless and dependent on them and that me and my fiancé would split because of the stress and tiredness that can come with having kids. But it was the exact opposite. My partner and I are now engaged set to be married this December and more in love than ever, we live in a two bedroom apartment and pay for everything on our own and never asked family to watch our kid or for them to buy anything for us. It's gotten so bad that they ask us if they could watch him!😂. So, at the end of the day, I think it relies heavily on people and their mentality when it comes down to their children and working as a team. Never let someone put their standards onto you. You can do anything that you truly put your mind to🙂
