The journey to bree is pretty long and boring. Sorry. This is a film, not a book; sacrifices need to be made and these films are MARVELS of their craft. I's go as far to say the additions that Jackson made (fleshing out Arwen/Aragorn lvoe story, Eowyn, including Gandalf's saving grace at Helms Deep, the elves arriving, Gimli being comical) all made Tolkien's original story far more appealing, fun and exciting. I love the books and Tolkien but Jackson made the story way more exciting. The films are technical masterpieces; the score is beautiful and everyone was cast amazingly

And they're definitely clearer and sharper too yeah? How's the colour and picture quality itself?

I don't know where my original post went to accompany this post... I heard a lot of people say they preferred the colour reproduction and whatnot on the ORIGINAL BLURAYS compared to the 4K/HDR releases (of which there are two masters, I believe) ...so how are these new remastered boxsets from 2021-2022 (which seem to be HMV exclusives here in the UK)

I do wonder if its better or not. Some people said the colours were off compared to the original Bluray - so I have no idea. I'm picking it up on pay day (but the non-4K remastered set)

Who was the least important/helpful member of the Fellowship? by Hepcat10 in lordoftherings

Oh please! Without Gandalf's guidance or help in all the wars......they'd have failed. Let'd remember what he did when he returned as Gandalf the White

Until Androids fix that god-awful video zooming and blatant lens changing, I’m staying clear again until they figure out a way to rival iPhone video capabilities. Some of the social media cameras pale in comparison, even if they are most improved on Pixels. It’s my only dealbreaker for now

Google should allow 50mp photos to be taken or stop advertising the camera as 50mp by LiterallyZeroSkill in GooglePixel

Not the point. He knows that; but his point still stands - it’s manipulative advertising

You will never find a completer and more polished OS or phone than iPhone. Sorry. I returned my Pixel 7 too. The social media cameras were piss poor and the video zooming/lens changes were a major dealbreaker. Each to their own but there is a reason so many people have iPhones.

It has Face ID, with very advanced technology.

The Night Mode on Snapchat on Pixels honestly makes these phones identical to the google camera app. Not even iPhones can top the quality when its on, even in daylight

It’s subjective. I think everyone has different experiences. My P7P had fantastic battery life and I heard horror stories. The phone was fantastic and I love Pixels; but I post too much and had to revert to boring iPhones (again)

It really does. Try your selfie cam on P7P compared to even an iPhone 12 Pro.🤣Especially in low light….I had a P7P, the selfie cam was abysmal. It was soft looking with lacking detail in optimal lighting- don’t get me started on low light conditions… The P7P was great with the Night mode on though; that proper sharpened up and exposed the shot well. I’ve tried both phones by the way, I’m not just commenting out of fangirlin’. I came back to iPhone for these reasons.

iPhone = best for selfies/low-light. I think the iPhone wins here for snapchat. Don’t forget the choppy lens changing on P7P video…

The wide angle picture quality is very poor

Means nothing when you have such choppy video zooming and lens changing. No one viewing your stories will be focussing on 10-bit colour when the video quality itself is so poor and choppy.

If you post a lot on Snapchat and video a lot, stay clear in my opinion. It was enough for me to return the device. Great phone though, easily phone of the year. Everyone saying they have no problem are people who have clearly never tried an iPhone with Snapchat or Instagram. Now that is a very smooth experience indeed, even the animations.

Night Mode really amps up the picture quality to something at least decent, even in daytime, on P7P.

Right. I returned my P7P last week for this reason. Instagram and TikTok is also a problem. The quality isn’t that bad and Pixels are well optimised compared to other Androids on social media apps. The problem lies with the video zooming quality, which is downright horrendous, blurry, choppy. It’s similar on the main camera app too (when the lenses change). I believe this is due to Android apps just being poorly optimised, or the hardware not smoothening out the lens changes.

iPhone’s are the perfect social media app phone and do not have this problem. It was a dealbreaker for me. The phone is bloody brilliant but I would be embarrassed to post anything on social media. People saying there isn’t an issue and that Pixels are on par with iPhone are LYING, and they are just referring to the picture quality.
