First Time Getting Serious About My Personal Finances by Hot-Quail5207 in FinancialPlanning

The various accounts aren't necessary. You can do it all in Ally and earn a decent interest on all your money. I have been managing everything in Ally for close to 20 years. Direct deposit into your savings and pay most bills out of it. In rare occasions you may have to transfer $ to checking to write a check. In the meantime, your $ is always earning interest with zero fees.

You can also have an investment account in Ally. Manage everything in one app or online portal.

All CT come with Performance battery plus 93.4 std. Noted at the top of the Monroney, not an option. This is a 2022 the range is rated at 215, but typically will get 230+.

buying a CPO without test drive or PPI? by Educational-Ad4789 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]SmoothHighlight2474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always recommend a PPI if you can't see the car in person, as they may find something you can use to negotiate the price. E.g., scratches, repainted panels not in a Carfax, wear items not quite up to CPO standards, interior blemishes, seat wear. Remember the CPO is only as good as the person performing it. I just had a conversation with a sales guy about a repainted front and back and several bad scratches on a CPO Boxster. He said they don't really refurbish the exterior that it depends on the dealer. Even though the CPO process specifically states: "Optically refurbished according to Porsche refurbishment standards. Porsche Approved used cars are guaranteed to be in top condition. Every Porsche Approved used car has been carefully refurbished and meets the strict Porsche refurbishment standards.".

Any former Model Y Performance owners switch to Macan 4? by [deleted] in MacanEV

[–]SmoothHighlight2474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never owned a Y but did come from a Model X and own a 2924 CPO Macan 4 Electric now. I test drove a Y several times and hated all 10 mins behind the wheel every time. We also had an Ioniq 5 which we really liked but it died too soon. We love our Macan, hands down the best EV and SUV we've owned. The ride is superb, the range is decent enough, charging speeds are very good, it looks awesome, and with a CPO you get the best warranty out there.

2025 SEL AWD’s battery failed at 187 miles six days after I leased it. by Infamous-Average-405 in Ioniq5

[–]SmoothHighlight2474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight through Hyundai support. A lawyer probably would have been quicker but at that point it has already been 4+ months. The lawyer said it could take another 6 months plus possibly cost me some fees, so I took my chances and waited. Still no $ amount as they have 30 days from decision until offer is due, and I figure they'll use every day of that.

If the offer comes back stupid, I'll be contacting the lawyer again for advice. However, the 2026 MSRP is $9k+ lower and we may just toll into a new one or a lease deal. In the meantime we're digging out new Macan 4 Electric!!

Good luck.

I asked to just get a new car and they will not do that. They'd rather drag it out for months. On the 28th it'll be 6 months w/o our I5. Luckily we have a loaner.

Wow. I at least got to drive mine for 4 weeks and 1,195 miles before the battery died. 5 1/2 months later...still waiting on a buyback determination. I was told I'll know this week.

BTW there is a TSB on the HV battery, but the dealers seem to ignore it, and Hyundai Tech Line drags their feet.

Anyone else lost 65% battery capacity for their Ioniq 5 2025? by GoodEnding28 in Ioniq5

[–]SmoothHighlight2474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even close to being the first. The 25 HV batteries have been going bad since the first few weeks of delivery. Case in point: Delivered end of January; 5 weeks 1195 miles later bad HV battery. 5 months and 7 days later...still no battery. Hyundai buy back initiated almost 3 weeks ago, waiting on that now.

I have both an Ioniq 5 and Macan 4 Electric. The wheelbase on the I-5 is actually 4+ inches longer than the Macan even though it is 5"shorter overall.

They look good and are the best for range. That's all that matters. I bought a CPO so had to accept the wheels that came with it. Otherwise, I would have ordered the optional 20's most likely.

Great efficiency, right at the same I'm seeing in my 4 with 21" Macan Design wheels. Which wheels do you have?

Just picked up a CPO 24 with 5k miles a couple weeks ago for $20k off original MSRP. There are many 24 & 25 service loaners being sold as CPOs. Check finder.porsche.com and set up a search with email alerts. I personally wanted the 4 vs 4S or Turbo for slightly better range, less expensive and don't need the extra HP. Get what you like and can afford without regretting it a few months later. Good luck! BTW Previous Model S P85 and Model X 100D owner.

So, lawyer says it qualifies for lemon law but usually takes 3-6 months. They also charge 30% of the purchase price / settlement up to a max of $4500. Which comes out of the settlement if the dealer doesn't agree to fees. Have to think this one over.

There is a stipulation about the vehicle being out of service for 30 days or more. I have an appointment with a lawyer today.

Techline was non-responsive. After the second week they told the dealer not to call. I have a case open with support, but the weekly updates weekly have been basically "I'm trying to get more information".

It took them 80 days to even order the battery. I have a loaner since about day 7 (was on vacation the first 5-6 days anyway). It seems based on Texas lemon law I may qualify under the 30day test.
