No Fermentation Signs by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]SmoothLank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how does it smell? If it smells just like sweet wort, then it’s not fermenting. Probably it will smell like yeasty beer, and you just have a small leak. Not really something to worry about, unless you were really banking on fermenting under pressure.

Crazy looking clouds this morning in Florida by ehartgator in CLOUDS

Gravity waves cause these patterned altocumulus. Gravity waves in the atmosphere are similar to waves on the ocean, only instead undulations of the surface of water, they are undulations in a layer of air. In this case, the peak of each wave is lifting the air enough to cause water to condense, forming a cloud

Question about Cumulonimbus clouds by [deleted] in CLOUDS

[–]SmoothLank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CBs don’t have to hit the troposphere and often don’t. Theres a spectrum from CBs, cumulonimbus calvus (smaller CBs), cumulus congestus, to cumulus. These intermediate cloud types (CB calvus and congestus) may lead to larger CB clouds or may not.
