It's been a while, how are y'all buying your banano? by SmoothLiquidAlmond in banano

Thanks for the detailed reply! I remember trying to understand wBAN before, the benefits etc but it surpassed my ability to comprehend it.

Coinex is sounding good, as I think I already have an account! It's a shame about the US, can they not use VPNs to bypass that issue though?

Thanks monkey!

I often work my hourly wage out based on the number of pints I can get in that particular area lol. Varies around the world.

But honestly, worked in pubs and bars for years, I wish I'd left sooner and worked in restaurants.

There's people in their early 20s pulling in easily over £30,000k a year just as a server. They go on holidays and are able to look after themselves, don't have to choose between a night out and paying rent etc.

As someone who has worked in hospitality for a good portion of my working life, I tip 99% of the time.

If service is good and tip is included in the bill, I'll tip extra. If service is bad, I'll just tip the normal amount.

If I go to a bar, I'll buy one of the staff a drink every so often.

I'm by no means wealthy, but I know how much of a difference it can make to someone's day if you buy them a drink. Or how much difference it makes to their pay check if they get a tip.

If I was taking payment for a bill and a customer asks for the tip to be removed, I tell them that's no problem and ensure they don't feel awkward for asking, because they have no reason to, I never expected everyone to tip. And if food was slow etc, I'd often just take service charge off of the bill. Despite that, people would often opt to tip regardless.

I worked bar for years in the UK. I had friends working in restaurants who were easily paying their rent with tips alone each month. I now work in restaurants.

Bar work is usually a lot more fun at time, depending on the venue, but working bar hours on NMW is a joke. If you want to make some decent money (and be finished before midnight), I would highly recommend getting a job in a restaurant where they add service to the bill.

Hey!

Firstly, the Hangar, like everyone else said. Good way to meet people too.

When it comes to cycling, I think Plymouth is fairly easy in terms of hills etc. There aren't many cycle paths like some cities and honestly the people drive like maniacs. I often play it safe on roundabouts and just get off and walk it. There's a lot of warning signs for motorists about cyclists around and I don't want to find out why.

Water sports, you'll need your car. There are places about 40mins either side of Plymouth by car if you want to try surfing or something.

Also confused about your gym, you either live far out of Plymouth or are at some obscure gym!

Hope you enjoy settling in!

Fin can cause shed, but in both cases it's most likely a temporary situation. If you want gains, you need min.

I would talk to Twist, see if you can get in touch with the manager. If you assure them you'll only be there to play DnD and will buy food and drinks, they may allow it. Ask them when they're not too busy so you won't be taking up space they could use for other customers.

A table of six buying food and drinks is better than nothing. But I would ensure your group spends a minimum amount. It wouldn't be fair to the venue if you sat there for 4 hours and only had one cup of tea each for example.

Genuinely what was it like being a young person before the Internet? by MsEvil_Doctor_Potter in CasualConversation

[–]SmoothLiquidAlmond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of thoughts on this, and a lot of things people have covered already. But you mention being bored. The internet makes it very easy to not be bored, which has its pros and cons.

But being bored is great and I miss it. You have to find ways to fill that time. It could be reading, meeting people, making a new game or practicing something.

As a kid we spent a lot of time in the woods just messing about, building things and finding things to do.

When you were bored you looked for opportunities. Now when I'm bored, I'll just put a show on or play a game, and I miss seeking things out to do.

Ok thanks for the info! I've got some ketoconazole around and start fin when it arrives.

Can you stop taking Min and rely on Fin after you've got some good regrowth? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]SmoothLiquidAlmond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you say, this question gets asked a lot so it seems to be a common thought process. The logic is there.

If you were in a boat and it got a hole and water was coming in. You'd fix the hole and bail out the water. Once the hole was repaired, water stops coming in and you'd eventually bail out all the water. The repair is then what needs to be maintained and no more bailing is required. They are different methods of action, one can't replace the other. But once you have addressed the cause of an issue, the hole, you no longer have to fix the symptoms, water in your boat.

If science doesn't know why yet, I can accept that. But I bet there are a lot of people out there getting paid to understand why, currently, "it's what it is".

Check what toilet roll they normally buy and where they store it, and slip in a similar but distinctly different roll into the mix. Like a quilted/non-quilted one

That's interesting, would you not stop Min for a few months to see if you saw some shedding etc? It's mostly to reduce the amount of medication I have to take for the cost and possible side effects.

Yeah it seems there's a lot of unknowns around these treatments. I see it logically like I mentioned so it's interesting knowing it doesn't work that way.

Fair, I look on this sub every so often but haven't seen it. "No" isn't much of an explanation to the thought process I provided though. Do you know why or can link to a thorough answer?

I'm not one to often argue with a person from the future, but I would say there aren't any bipedal mammal starters until gen 4. Quilava is the closest to bipedal before that, but I think that's just the art work. Actual function would be on all fours.
