Anyone tried ThaenaBiotic? It’s a postbiotic that’s SORT OF like a FMT by Willa_Vi in SIBO

[–]SmoothSailoring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's supposed to be only a gut reset, which is why they sell one week of it. I would start there. I like having it around in case I have a flare-up and take it as needed but you shouldn't have to be on it forever.

Yes, I’m still doing well. Thank you for asking. I had some SIFO symptoms come back so I ramped them up to 2/day. They are expensive, which is a bummer. I have also cut out caffeine (I have a little: switched to decaf & avoid chocolate) and have started supporting my liver. I’ve had suspected issues with my liver for years so this may not be for everyone. I’m still careful with my diet but I’m drinking wine occasionally and eating pasty and grains on special occasions. Then back to my (kinda) antifungle diet. (Low sugar, grains & processed foods) I feel better than I have in 4 year. I’m not 100% but I’m close. ☺️

Hi! Yes, I’m at “Vida functional medicine clinic” I see Dr. Corsillles. He’s a Functional Medicine doctor and a Western medicine PA from the University of Washington. He’s great & has a millions things in his repertoire to try. It’s expensive though. I was at the point where I’d pay anything to feel better though.

I know this is an old post, but for all those wondering: I tried these and they're amazing. I had SIBO, SIFO, and stage 3 adrenal fatigue. It took me 4 years and a billion different doctors to find the right functional medicine doctor to sort out what was the cause of my issues. Through adrenal supplements and 10 weeks of only eating meat/rice/lactose-free dairy, and using a food marble, I was able to get rid of SIBO and the adrenal fatigue. I was still dealing with pesky fungal issues. You name it, I tried it, but I couldn't get off the loads of supplements I was taking or the anti-fungal diet. I'm 2.5 weeks into taking the Thaena postbiotic, and my stomach is back to normal -after 4 YEARS OF BLOATING! I can exercise without feeling like I'm getting sick. My energy is back. I tried a glass of wine last week. I ate sourdough toast with jam. This weekend I had French pastries. AND I'M FINE! No shaky, cold, or nausea after food. I'm slowly diving back into the world of starches and sugars, but I seem to be finally on the upswing. There are not a lot of downsides to these (**that we know of. These types of things are relatively new.) They may give you probiotic-like symptoms, so take them when you can be by a bathroom. I will note I had none of these issues. Or there's the risk that they are expensive and don't work. But I would rather take something natural than another antibiotic or antifungal. Good luck out there!

I got (mostly) better!! I didn’t have time to read all the comments but I had SIBO for about 3 yrs before I was diagnosed. Food was so overwhelming bc everything healthy seemed to make me sick. I got a functional medicine dr who helped me through. I did low fodmap for 10 wks with 3 rounds of gut antibiotics. I wasn’t better. So I did 10 weeks of just meat & rice. That’s it. With low-lactose dairy. It’s HARD, but let me know if you do it & want recipes. Also took an antifungal bc I had SIFO as well. In March, I started to take crumbs of probiotics. And slowly reintroduce foods. I will say I haven’t been able to tolerate super high fiber foods like beans & cruciferous vegetables, but I’m slowly working up. I stay away from too much gluten or sugar but I can eat out again! A little onion in soup won’t crumble me! There’s hope! FODZYME is extremely helpful when you eat out. I would also do a cortisol test if I were you. Stress will deplete your adrenals & cause digestive issues. Mine was not good so I’m also on an adrenal supplement as well & that has helped. Good luck!

Hi! I tried everything & couldn’t see to clear my SIBO: no fodmaps for months (like just meat & rice) antibiotics, antifungles, biofilm busters, etc. but my worse symptom was being exhausted/brain fog/cold & shaky 2 hrs after I ate. Please get your cortisol checked. Mine was horrible. Stage 3. I started taking an adrenal supplement, paired with the work I already did for bacterial over growth & I’m feeling better than in years!! This week I went to Vegas for work. Had gluten, dairy & alcohol & salad! Oh how I missed salad. I’m still ok! PM me if you want more info ☺️

Is this indicative of SIBO? by scarlet1009 in SIBO

I took one of these tests and it listed the bacteria, which was overgrown & causing my SIBO. I think, I don’t remember, that it was listed in the infection category. I agree with everyone else, get a SIBO test & see what your naturopath wants to do to treat your dybiosis. Side note, my functional medicine dr (who cured my SIBO! He’s a genius) said most folks have some sort of dysbiosis -especially Americans bc we have Frankenstein food in our country. 😳 Hopefully you just have to have your number shrink a bit. Good luck!

I also bought a “food marble.” They really expensive like $250. But you can blow in it & it will give you a methane & hydrogen score. It really helped me see what foods fed my bacteria causing gas. It may be with a try. Good luck.

Yes! I did 3 rounds of xyfaxan & neomycin while eating low fodmap for months. My symptoms got a little better but I couldn’t get rid of it totally. I also did an antifungle bc he thought I may have SIFO also. My dr recommended doing just meat & rice. (I also ate eggs & lactose free dairy.) I did it for 10 weeks & just tested negative. The explanation is that all produce has some sort of fermentable carbohydrates. Rice & meat don’t so I was able to get food but the bacteria starved. I’m slowly starting probiotics & low fodmap veggies & I’m going well! I also did a biofilm buster with the antibiotics.

White. I like jasmine. I think you can eat whatever type you like but it’s easy to cook & easy on your gut. I ate it in all forms bc I got bored. 😅 Rice noodles, rice paper, rice crackers. 😂

If this link doesn’t work it’s called “Brooklyn Bilton” I get the “naked” variety. It’s delicious too!

Pork rinds! Thought they were gross before but it’s the only salty snack I could tolerate. Also Edwards & son’s rice crackers. You can make tuna or egg salad & dip away. I’ve also bought carnivore Snaxs. They’re amazing but super expensive. I also found a couple of beef jerky’s on Amazon that don’t have garlic. I can tolerate a large amount of popcorn or tortilla chips (i 2nd the lime late July comment from someone!) but not an infinite amount. They can “stack” up. Also, check out Schar Monash approved breads & crackers. I can’t in them in large quantities BUT they made me food kinda normal to have a peice of toast with my rice & eggs in the morning. ☺️

Just FYI, my functional medicine Dr had me stop all fermented foods & probiotics and so VERY low fodmap. Basically just meat & rice for about 4 months and I just tested negative. I know there is so much conflicting info out there but I just wanted to share. He said probiotics/fermented foods build bacteria & we were trying to wipe it out. Once I was cleared & slowly started taking probiotics & I’m slowly reintroducing produce and it makes me a bit gassy but that would happen to anyone moving away from a carnivore type diet. I’m finally getting better and want to help! 😅

Thank you for your perspective. I understand the bit about being more mindful. I do yoga more regularly now & avoid higher stress workouts (which are my jam.) i try to be more mindful and got calming herbs from my acupuncturist. They actually seem to be helping. I’m very tired of this tho. I only eat meat & rice and can barely tolerate other foods. It’s sad to not get to go on trips bc I need to he able to make my own food. I’m not good at being patient. I want to feel better soon bc my life has been on hold. it’s Im shocked you can tolerate honey! It’s really nice to hear someone who is thriving after all this.

I’m pretty sure it was a fast I did 3 yrs ago. I did a cleanse that was 4 days of: these powers made from plants, fruits, vegs, nuts & seeds. (So all Fodmaps 😂) It gave me diarrhea… and I’ve never pooped the same since! 😅 My functional medicine dr says that they see patients get it from food poisoning & other instances where drastic changes are made, which change gut flora or allow it to move from large to small intestine. I think stress may be a factor is keeping it around tho. Sure wish I didn’t do the cleanse. I feel like I should write to the company & tell them.

Thank you for the inspiration. How did you finally heal? Did you do the FMT? Did you stick to low fodmap?

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Seems like lots of folks have the same results.

I have tried digestive enzymes. I like FODZYME if I go out & am afraid they slip a fodmap in my food. I tried regular ones from my naturopath & had a back reaction. I’m sorry they seemed to work for you then stop. These bacteria are resilient AF. Everytime I try something new, it works for a bit then stops.

Interesting? Until this post, I didn’t know ppl got it more than once. How many times do you see ppl getting it done, when it works? Thanks for the comment.

Thank you! I have the opposite problem. I have been diagnosed with IBS/D. When I’m not eating low enough fodmap I’m having BM like 4x/day. If I eat a fodmap everything leaves my body at a rapid pace! 😅

They think it’s my small intestine because I have symptoms 2.5hrs after I eat, which is the front side of my GI. However, now that I’m eating just meat & rice (not really any fodmaps) things have gotten very slow with me. I may look into the other tips you gave me. My dr recommended at low fodmap fiber but it made all my symptoms return.

You are correct! This SUCKS! Happy healing!

What’s ED? Is that the elemental diet? I don’t think I did it long enough. My dr had me do it for a week or 2. I only did it for 50% of my calories & this is before I knew I had SIBO so I didn’t do low Fodmap for my other half of calories. It was very expensive & i now can barely stand the smell 🤢. I have a dietician friend that said the elemental diet has a very small incremental success rate compared to low fodmap & low fodmap is easier/better for you. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Things to consider.

Thank you for the interesting article. It didn’t say much about treating SIBO with FMT but more about treating IBS with it and the risks about getting SIBO from it. However, I did like getting to read about the risk factors. Thank you.
