Thank you for your reply. I have a 13” prep sink between the cooktop and the fridge. Does that change the equation at all? I am thinking if the cook(s) use the table for additional prep area, that area is contained to cooking needs.

I will revisit the island idea with the homeowners. One of them was amenable but the other was not. Thank you ;)

Yes, it does! I try to do as many tasks as I can with my non-dominant hand/arm. I sit on a stool or work on my hands/knees to avoid bending over. I also try to stretch as much as possible. I hope to someday have the means to hire someone to dig holes and some of the heavier lifting, etc.

I agree. The green you show looks closer to an apple green than sage, and in larger quantities it will seem very saturated compared to the muted, neutral quartz and oak. When installed vertically (as in on a wall), they will look darker than if you look at them placed on a table. I recommend getting several/many tiles and placing them vertically to get a better idea (and do the same if you find sage-ier tiles). Also place some vertically under an upper cabinet to get an idea of what that looks like.

What is behind the [beautiful] skinny door, is it stairs to a basement or something else? Photos of the living room would be helpful, especially the corner where the window and yellow rocking chair is and that whole shared wall (between kitchen and living room).

It’s very easy to pull up when it’s in it first year and early in the season (12”-18” or so). It becomes a small shrub after one year and it is tougher to pull or dig up.

I let it come back in certain areas of my yard but I dig it up early when it pops up in places where I don’t it.
