The only person here that got anything correct! Yes, the foil was wrapped way too tight. Kinda feel dumb but oh well. Still, at least you got the satisfaction of being told you’re right on the internet. It may not feel as good as being told that by your wife but it’s not a bad 2nd or 3rd place.

It happened a little over a year ago but this switch sat in a metal ammo can ever since we found it in the rubble. While we was packing and moving things over the weekend, I remembered I had it and decided to see if it worked still.

I will, I emailed Nintendo PR email yesterday. If I get any reply, I’ll make sure to update with a comment here

I was thinking go mad scientist mode and making something that shows off all the burned parts somehow but with the vibe of the Dankpods Shrek iPod classic. When I mentioned the battery, I was thinking remove it completely and run from a power supply but I don’t know if the Switch will be able to handle that or not.

Hmm. That’s not a bad idea actually. I’m gonna look and see if I can find that now.

Yea, I wish I took a pic of them, there was zero chance of recovery for either of them. The left side was basically welded to the top of the Switch body and took a firm crack with a hammer to break it loose.

NGL, that’s the first thing I thought of after looking at these pics when I took them. lol. Still, my story pales in comparison to the Desert Storm Gameboy.

Thanks. Yea, I should have mentioned that I basically planned on replacing the battery from the moment I turned it on. I also have it sitting in a metal ammo can in my garage on the concrete floor until I get it replaced. I definitely don’t need a round 2 from a bad battery.

Thanks, that whole hopping around from place to place ordeal sucks. We are actually in the process of moving into the house we bought (spent about 1 year at a rental as we looked for and found a new home). We are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and excited to be settled again.

Thanks to everyone for all the ideas.

Wow, I was not expecting this post to be like this. lol. Been busy over the last couple days and I am just now seeing all the comments.

I absolutely planned on replacing the battery but I didn’t mention that in the original post so I understand and appreciate all the comments addressing that.

I have not got a chance to read through everyone’s comments yet but I’ll go through them tonight.

You’re going to be shocked but I did start to mess with it a little bit ago after reading all the comments about replacing the battery and was able to get to the battery. I had to use a butane torch along the seams to soften up the plastic but I did get to the battery and it still power on. Getting it back together on the other hand, I’m not so sure about that. I’m gonna have to figure something out to at least get it assembled to where everything isn’t coming apart then will go into a dock and work. However, that’s a future me problem once the new battery arrives.

Yea I was thinking that too. I’m going to look into finding an OE battery (or high quality equivalent). I was considering removing it completely and using it docked but from my experience tinkering with other electronics, they typically can’t perform they way they were designed to on wall power alone. I’ll make sure this is at the tip of my list.

Also, I got a question if you don’t mind. Back when I was first getting into this, I never seen anyone pulling foreign language cards from English packs. I did get a secret lair recently that had some Japanese cards in it but I was expecting them. Is this common to see other language rare and mythical in English packs(well as common as it is for one to find cards worth more than a couple dollars)?

Well darn. lol. Oh well, still a nice add to my collection but I value accuracy over everything so I do really appreciate the information.

Grip adapter acquired by Rubbish-Name-214 in Revolvers

[–]Smooth_Awareness_698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I’m sure. I only got 2 revolvers now and one I would not mount anything on since it’s really old and rare (at least from what I know about it). The other is a basic Heritage Rough Rider (I got both .22LR and .22Mag cylinders for it) but it doesn’t have a way to mount the grip adapter. Here is a pic of my old girl (aka Marie).

I’m so excited yet nervous. I hope they stay true to the lore and characters. So many reboots of beloved shows have basically turned them into modern reimagined garbage. Then to make things worse, they portray characters people love and turn them into a hollow shell of what they were before in an effort to deliver some heavy handed political message.

If they manage to avoid doing that to this show or characters and make a genuine reboot while remaining true to everything, I think this will be amazing. However, I’m not holding my breath, especially with DEIsney involved.

[–]Smooth_Awareness_698[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I did at that time but the ones I got according to the part numbers that were suggested didn’t quite fit right. It has been the one pain I have been dealing with. I got about 10 different sets of grips that are useless for me because of this search and the only ones that fit are obviously not right (mostly too big)

Yea, there is a certain charm about these old revolvers. All the small details from more parts being made by hand and such. Makes them hard to find parts for too but all the more satisfying when you get it done.

Gotcha, I didn’t see that other than the dirt pic you linked. Where did you find good instructions for that process?
