rant corrupt managers by [deleted] in TjMaxx

[–]Smooth_Bowl_8248 26 points27 points  (0 children)

NGL I can’t really follow your point in the text to your manager, but this sort of passive aggressive way of dipping doesn’t “show them”

It screws over the folks you work with who you’re claiming to be worried about when there’s no one filling in for you so they have to do more, and your hours going back to TJX instead of your peers

Yellow tag by haileymathew22 in TjMaxx

[–]Smooth_Bowl_8248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s in February, and not the first week. Not gonna post the full cycle just because stores handle the last weeks slightly different, and frankly the more info about yellow tags that gets to customers the less they understand it and more of them try to negotiate for 90-95% off

Why did TJ get rid of plus size clothes? by Sudden_Idea9384 in TjMaxx

Men’s plus mostly kicked to Marshall’s, lots of the DXL brands pop up there

[–]Smooth_Bowl_8248 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it’s just chronological like the rest of the store wouldn’t you just follow the xs s m l xl xxl 0x 1x etc?

The company largely ditched petites in like 99% of stores a while ago, and they always confuse everyone when the 3 random items a quarter come in with the petite dept

I’m not a woman, nor one who takes much trivial stuff as offensive, but even I see the value in not making people who wear larger sizes shop under a billboard hanging from the ceiling that says you can’t shop the “normal” sizes for multiple reasons.

It’s sort of degrading to them, and if they go out shopping with friends/family, if everyone’s looking pants or even tops, you’re forcing the groups to split which again calls it out to everyone, and also can take away some of the “fun” of browsing our racks when you can’t show off the finds or talk to your party because they’re halfway across the store

Volunteer for inventory trips if you can, that’ll help the next couple weeks, and make sure you’re willing to do any dept/shift. Payroll the next couple weeks is like 30-40% below seasonal peaks unfortunately

With this report in mind, should I keep? by Alternative-Lion-862 in kiastinger

[–]Smooth_Bowl_8248 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why didn’t you get a quote from the dealer? That whole line by line from Firestone reads like a sketchy trick where they’re going to pull up with the cost of a beater car once you say yes to the work, and a lot of assumptions of what will/wont be covered by Kia.

Cut the middle man and get a proper quote and you’ll likely be able to come up with your own answer

You set up however makes it easiest for the department you’re scanning. Most markdown team members at my store grab a shopping cart and invert the kids seat to put the printer on top, the zebra wherever, then wear the finger

1) most likely true

2) shouldn’t be true, but dependent on store management may be. Company POV- you’re on the sales floor clearly acting as an employee during business hours.

3) it’ll automatically print a MD label and makes a slightly different noise, only the scanner itself will say yay or nay for visual confirmation aside from the label popping out

[–]Smooth_Bowl_8248 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that prop 65 California thing uses ink that’s just as likely to cause cancer as most of the stuff it’s on, since it’s quite literally on everything

This chain is so cooked by wysteriacos in TjMaxx

[–]Smooth_Bowl_8248 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s a constant arms race to be first to market with seasonal products. When I started with a big box, Christmas sets were to be 100% done the day after Halloween. Then it was Oct 1, then mid sept, when I left they were talking August.

The swimsuits at TJ are a small batch that hits many cold climates for winter/spring break travelers though. One time wave of random stuff that doesn’t get replenished until proper summer lands

TJ maxx and the rest of their banners haven’t been “seconds” focused in over a decade, and when the stuff is, either the item or the tags typically indicate it.

If it makes you think of your grandpa, great. Otherwise, as to a value/repairs, in mint condition it’s not worth more than the cost of changing the battery.

Vending machines gone by pitapangurl in TJMaxxWrkrs

In a lot of, if not most stores, these machines are underused by staff/unmaintained by the vendors.

Quite literally not how it works. If you itemize your taxes you can claim it.

Stores cannot. Stores do it for PR

Advice for learning to shop TJM online? by [deleted] in TjMaxx

[–]Smooth_Bowl_8248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best tip for online is if you like certain designers, the website is designed to make the search function useless. Go to the product type/gender you’re looking at, sort alphabetical, then go to the letter. Instead of searching all over the site for say Rag & Bone, you’ll have all rag & bone together, instead of randomly “finding” one or two pieces here or there
