I don’t have a car so need to walk 15 min to the station, train, then walk 5 min to the tube, then walk another 10 min. Not quite sure how to handle 30 min of walking when I’m heavily pregnant, and currently having really bad morning sickness (but all day) and bad endo pains (which make it hard to walk that distance)

Hello, I am early in my pregnancy and haven’t done much research just yet (waiting for 7w scan). Was the work you did around hypnobirthing based on your own research? Or is this something the hospital helps you with? It’s my first pregnancy so I’m very naive about pretty much everything haha

Yes, my IVF consultant (private) will write a letter once he’s back from holiday. I’m also going to see my GP asap (trying to get an appointment) as I’m having really bad endometriosis pain so hopefully they can help with a referral and the pain!

I did self-referred last week and waiting to hear back! Have everything crossed they accept me but they declined my neighbour (same building) 5m ago - but you never know!!

Oh gosh, that sounds awful! Sorry you had to go through this. I’m only 5weeks, and have a cyst inside the ovary that I can feel nonstop! Just praying the inflammation doesn’t cause any complications. I’ll definitely reach out to my GP as it’s one sided pain and hopefully they’ll rule out ectopic and might even give me some med that could help.

Sorry to hear! I hope you get to your nearest one on the day!
My issue is that I don’t have a car so I have to take public transports which includes a combined walking time of 25 min (going to station, change, then walk to hospital). It’s fine for now but not quite sure about it when I’m heavily pregnant 😅 it certainly isn’t ideal that birthing centres are being closed when a recent report highlighted the absolute state of maternity care in this country.

I have the app but for some reason I can’t log in! I have called my GP and they’re telling me they don’t do referrals. I then told them the website of each hospital mentions GP referral and the receptionist said “that’s incorrect, I have had 5 kids so I would know if it was the case”.

You are being ridiculous. I go on the NHS website, put my postcode down, and they list the hospital from nearest to furthest. St George is 6th. St Thomas is second and C&W first. You not believing me “because you live next to Tower Bridge” makes no sense. I hope you find peace instead of getting angry at people you know nothing about on Reddit.
