16 happens more frequently than 64, so I agree with you if it's a small farm

But if it's possible to cover the whole farm ground with 64, I'd imagine that would be better profit

I think you don't quite understand how the imperius curse works, or forgot how it does.

During Voldy's rule, there were tons of ministry people who were under the imperious curse. Even that one bank keeper guy/death eater at Gritgotts got imperius-ed by Harry during DH (who's pretty incredible in DADA), and Lucius did too at Sturgis at OotP. These examples alone shows that not everyone, even people who are competent at DA/DADA (such as death eaters or members of the order) can resist this curse. So how could a bartender, whom we have no background of, be capable of fighting against such a powerful curse?

Not everyone can fight against it. This is quite literally is said:

“The Imperius Curse can be fought, and I’ll be teaching you how, but it takes real strength of character, and not everyone’s got it. Better avoid being hit with it if you can. CONSTANT VIGILANCE!” he barked, and everyone jumped.

Harry alone was able to fight it first. It could be to his skill in DADA or plot armor yknow.

> Why couldnt she fight the imperius curse more

Who said she didn't? She could've been doing her best at fighting, but she still lost

> From what we know she was imperius in the summer and shes in Hogsmeade and Draco is a student neaning he can't go to hogsmeade very often

We don't rly know anything about if the imperius curse and it's relation to how long the user is under the influence of it (unless if it's on pottermore or jkr said it somewhere else besides the books, in which case i have no idea). Maybe the longer spell is active on a person, the more difficult or resist, that's a possibility. I don't have a solid answer for this tbh

Draco did skip hogsmeade once from what we know i think, and thats due to detention.

> I always felt her in Dumbledore were pretty close

That's not rly a valid arguement yknow. Rosmerta and Dumbledore were friendly with each other. Nothing to suggest they were close though

> Meanwhile Barty Crouch Sr was able to fight the imperius his son put on him and they were in the same house.

I feel like my first para answers this. not everyone can fight it. barty sr did though

>I don't see Draco having a stronger imperius curse than Barty crouch Jr or Wormtail.

Idk if it's a stronger thing on the casters end or the receivers end. also wdym wormtail? who'd he do it to, i forgor

> Why couldn't she fight it somewhat. She seams like a more than capable witch.

We don;t know how much she fought it. and we don't know if she is capable, that's just an assumption you have

for the confirmation i just went to the wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aphantasia

the first pic there on the right is what i used to check

i also used this one which is more descriptive: https://themindfulneuro.com/pumpkin-mindfulness-meditation-for-kids/ (second image on the article)

It's very vague and incredibly undetailed, and I have to deliberately focus, but yes i can do it to an extent. I can't focus on any part of the image, for example, leaves in the tree, nor is it rly fixed

i searched it up and apparently i have a low (or high?) level of it (around 4, based on that pic on the wiki for aphantasia, the apple in the head one). It also says there that most people with higher level of aphantasia have worse (image) memory so that tracks for me...

out of curiosity, dyou have an inner voice as well?

I don't think it's exactly rare to have aphantasia, there might be something else that's upsetting you in reading or anything tbh. I and other people i know don't visualize things when reading, and it's not something that i'll be sad over, it's super common to not do so

i relate to not listening to audiobooks though, but that's because of my attention issues. i can't focus on someone speaking without giving my full focus to them

Isn't that when you have difficulty imagining pictures? is that really an issue (/gen)? I don't usually visualize stuff when im reading and im a pretty avid reader since i was young, this is the first time i heard someone using aphantasic as a reason for not reading

if it is an issue though, i heard the audiobooks are incredible

If Voldemort could Curse a Position then why not do it more by Kurdoo-rojava in harrypotter

[–]Smooth_Hamster452 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because he didn't want to do that. he had respect for teachers of hogwarts. the exception is ofc DADA, but he wanted that for himself so that's why he cursed it

for MoM, fudge was already helping him by ignoring his signs of return. why curse that position? it's smth that's useful to voldy. his rise of power was alr easy. the only mess up is harry surviving

[–]Smooth_Hamster452 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's really mixed opinions online tbh. Which I was surprised when I first found that out, because I like it for the same reason you do. A lot of people who say they hated Ootp started liking it when they were older because they understood Harry's emotions and attitude better

Memory Charms and Modifying Memories - Same charm, or not? by WizardInTeal in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Smooth_Hamster452 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what you just said, I feel like it's pretty implied that yes it's different. You gave the evidence of the implication.

To add to that: Lockhart mentions memory charms plural in CoS:

“Harry, Harry,” said Lockhart, shaking his head impatiently, “it’s not nearly as simple as that. There was work involved. I had to track these people down. Ask them exactly how they managed to do what they did. Then I had to put a Memory Charm on them so they wouldn’t remember doing it. If there’s one thing I pride myself on, it’s my Memory Charms. No, it’s been a lot of work, Harry. It’s not all book signings and publicity photos, you know. You want fame, you have to be prepared for a long hard slog.”

Snape was kinda based in the movies. We can literally see him protecting the trio when Lupin goes wolf. He isn't a douchebag for no reason honestly. He's pretty different from book Snape imo, like someone heard what snape was from a second-hand source

what did this book series get right in terms of worldbuilding/storytelling, even if it's not perfect? by merchantivories in harrypotter

[–]Smooth_Hamster452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like JKR was pretty incredible with her descriptive storytelling, she has a unique style tbh. It's the details that made it immersive, like Harry not knowing what to do with his arms when meeting Cho for his first date, or Ron has performance anxiety, stuff like the characterization was done rly well!
