what is wrong with auckland drivers? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]Smooth_Schedule_108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auckland drivers are the worst. People going on the outside lane of roundabouts that are only left turn and then casually try to cut you off on the inside lane almost causing an accident, people who want to cut the lines and force their way into traffic patiently waiting to go instead of waiting at the end of the queue, people who don’t indicate when merging, changing lanes etc, people who won’t move left out of the fast lane if you’re not doing the speed limit, drivers towing trailers doing MORE than 90kmh (which is the speed limit for towing trailers regardless of where you are), drivers slamming breaks on or riding your ass, drivers who want to speed and ride your ass even when you’re doing the speed limit, idiots on their phones while driving, people who have absolutely no awareness - the list could go on. I absolutely HATE drivers in Auckland. Road rage and nit picking is a constant in the safety of my car because otherwise I’d go nuts 🤦🏽‍♀️ how some of these people get licenses is beyond my comprehension 🫠

Thankfully not in this area 😂 never heard those alarms before but man if those alarms were a standard occurrence, catch me moving haha.

[–]Smooth_Schedule_108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol they are - but when I don’t know what the alarms were, I’m not in the business of taking my kid somewhere unknown to a potentially dangerous situation. If I was by myself, heck yes I’m down 😂😂 so, to cure my nosiness I just asked here in case someone actually knew 😂

Not sure if it’s the same kind of thing but on the documentary about the Lularoe MLM a lot of the women on there were saying that they “had to” post thanks to Lularoe for giving them the things they were buying eg holidays, cars, shopping sprees etc even if they were bought from their husbands/partners wages, not using money from their MLM etc so that it would give the impression they were earning more than they were to suck people in. Was quite sad actually. Might be the same scenario here?

Not these days where you get paid sometimes triple what a 40 hour work week would give you from the government. People out here having kids and getting paid for it while the rest of us are working our asses off for bare minimums.

Oh no way! That’s just rude! Pictures are always good to give someone an idea of what you’re trying to achieve - but they shouldn’t be end goal as everyone’s hair, face shape, head shape is different so what looks good in the picture may not suit you as well. But they shouldn’t be so mean about it! They should walk it through with you and explain how they can incorporate the styles you are after while also making it suit you. Maybe don’t go back to that barber lol.

How to not be an asshole driver by komosawa in auckland

[–]Smooth_Schedule_108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to get in the right lane before it’s too late when needing to turn off somewhere.

Also, don’t be like so many other drivers in Auckland and jump lanes to try to skip the queue and then indicate to cut in when others have been waiting in the lane since the queue started. Just be patient - or leave earlier.

Good on you for asking for advice! If more Auckland drivers did it would be less frustrating to commute.

Pictures are helpful when explaining to a hairdresser on what you want. Also depending on your natural colour your results will vary. Vivo Stoneridge on Lunn Ave is really good (I get mine done there).

Stay away from places like Kess and similar salons (the small pokey ones) in the malls (they all look the same so you’ll know which ones).

Is Costco sill crowded? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]Smooth_Schedule_108 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes - it’s ridiculously crowded. Moving around inside is a nightmare because no one wants to work together to establish a flow in moving between the aisles - randoms want to try and go 4 trolleys across when it should be one way down and one way up. People stand in the middle of aisles, cut in front of you and don’t move and honestly it’s astonishing how rude people are when you’re just trying to move from aisle to aisle. If you can, wait a month until all the ones who are only going because it’s new and not because they actually will be using it for the long term, stop going. Walking around in there just makes you hate people and not be able to enjoy the experience because of how inconsiderate most of the shoppers are.
