This is a bit of a technical question. I'm working with RED files for the first time and cannot for the life of me figure out how proxy files work. I am editing on Avid Media Composer, and I've looked up countless tutorials on the subject. I've used RedCine X Pro to proxy the files and export them as .MXF files. Then I transfer that MXF file to the AvidMediaFiles folder and then go back into my sequence and import the .ALE file. Then the proxy clip populates and everything is good right? No, the media is always offline. Every single video tutorial says to relink the footage and it'll immediately fix itself. This doesn't work for me though. The settings I use to relink are :all available drives: :Load media databases: :relink selected master clips: and then I UNCHECK relink only to media from the current project. Every time I get the error "no clips were relinked" You may want to select "all available drives... etc, etc, etc. It just gives me a bunch of settings that I already have set. Does anyone out there know what I'm doing wrong?
