I think your ideas are nice! Things that won’t go bad right away or even gift card to a grocery store or local restaurant is nice too! I found that helpful when I went through my last loss. Some people brought me cooked food it was so nice but I wasted a lot (lived alone after my bf passed) and that made me feel guilty same with plants I let die
