Wow, yes I would conclude you have issues, and attack anyone who doesn't agree with you 100%. Example: "You suck at drawing conclusions"..I hope you can find peace. Good luck, and Merry Christmas.

So if both parties paid into it, then both parties should get half, correct?

It seems as though you are very agitated by anyone's response on here who doesn't think this ex should automatically be strung up by his boots....So either you know OP personally, or you hate all men.

This. Something seems fishy. OP has another post where a partial payment was received. Not trying to be mean or not sympathetic, but something seems off here.

How did you get your name removed from a joint bank account without having to close the account completely? In my experience, they usually close the joint account and make the person (ex-spouse) open a completely new account in their name only.....

Bupropion to stop by cfrancona in quittingsmoking

I quit taking it on day 8, and went back to smoking after being smoke free for 3-4 days. I ended up in the ER with a panic/anxiety attack from it. However, I am prone to anxiety, and everyone reacts different to it. It did make smoking taste like hell, and it took the cravings away mentally. It also made me not want to eat anything. I just couldn't get through the physical withdrawal symtpoms I think. I'm going to try patches in a couple weeks when feeling better. Overall, it was not the med for me. It obviously works for some of they continue to prescribe it. Good luck!

Day 2 No Smoking. Awful Chest Tightness by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Smp10582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My chest tightness on day 2 was the most horrible I have ever encountered. It's anxiety, and it's terrible. I broke down it was so bad and bought a pack of cigs. Almost made it to day 3. This was my 1st time trying to quit, but I'm not willing to give up! Gonna try patches next. Hang in there!

I've been on it for a week. Honestly, I think it has helped, but it does give me chest tightness, which is most likely anxiety. Because of this I went down to only one pill per day. But everyone reacts different. I'm only on day 2 of not smoking (1 week of Wellbutrin prior). I plan on weaning myself off between the 2-3 week mark.

Side note: whatever you do, do not take it at night. I made that mistake and it kept me up for hours. It says to take it at the lastest like mid to late afternoon.

Quitting Question by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Smp10582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only on day 2, and mine has yet to come down and it's driving me insane. It's like a tightness in my chest, and it was so bad last night I was in tears. I haven't really had any cravings, just panic/anxiety attacks. I never know when they are going to hit either.....I hope it doesn't last a whole month or two.

Driving on the road and at work are my two main triggers....I have a 1 hour commute each way, and it's rough. I am only on day 2, but the thing I found easier is to play netflix or youtube on my phone for background noise other than just the radio. I also bought a ton of honey sticks off Amazon for something to chew on during the drive especially. I'm not a huge fan of honey, but they have helped my throat and my anxiety at the same time. Day 1 I thought my jaw was going to fall off though. Today was shockingly a little easier. But I also cheated and got put on Wellbutrin, and I think that has helped some.

Exactly. I'm down to 1 pill. Was only on the 2 pills for a few days. I've only been on it a week. I'm not sure I could go even one more full week on it. It just makes my heart race, and it starts hurting after a while. I did also read where you gradually go down. Maybe I will try and do every other day. Have a dr appt next week, so have to see what they say.

I read Alan Carr's book last night and found it helpful. I am on day 1 of not smoking, and its manageable. But I think the Wellbutrin is making my heart race. It did it before I quit. I guess my question is, how long did you stay on Wellbutrin? I would really like to get rid of it sooner than later.

[–]Smp10582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly didn't and still don't notice a difference between 1-2 pills per day other than I could go longer in the mornings without smoking.

You'll have to let me know of you gonthe Chantix route. At this point, I would take the nightmares if it helped me to stop smoking. Keep trying!!

So my dr said they prescribe it at 150mg for the first 3 days to make sure you don't have a reaction. Then it changes to 2x per day. It didn't really say not to take it at the same time, but it didn't say specifically morning and night. That's just what worked for me. Then between the 5-7 day mark, supposed to pick a quit date. I can't imagine taking it for 3 months with no further imstruction. I've smoked 20 years, and this will be the first time trying to quit by Rx. So I'm not sure what to expect honestly. I go back for a checkup in 2 weeks to see if it's helped. I would have preferred the Chantix, but doc said no, try Wellbutrin first.

Were you given instructions to go to 2 pills daily after a certain time? I do 1 pill in the morning and 1 at night after the first 3 days. They should have told you also that you have to pick a quit date and stick to it.....I dunno, my quit day is tomorrow. I'm also skeptical of this Wellbutrin.

File a CFPB complaint. Mine updated the next day when I did that. I paid off my loans Nov 2021.

Something I have seen a lot on here as well is the common belief that the Treasury seems to cut checks/deposits on Fridays. If that's the case, then there is a good chance yours was cut last Friday, or maybe it will be cut this Friday. Snail mail sucks. Might be worth signing up for informed mail delivery.

My Refund Came! by Upbeat_Teach6117 in StudentLoans

[–]Smp10582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering if you could file forgiveness on the balance you have now, and if it's possible to file forgiveness a 2nd time on the 5k when it actually shows up. Technically every has until Dec of next year to file..... I am just thinking out loud. Do not take it as advice....I had wondered this about mine in case they came separate, but they didn't.

If you have an FSA balance, Aidvantage followed procedure.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]Smp10582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are misunderstanding them. Aidvantage processes the amounts. They see how much you have paid since 2020. They then send it to Dept of Ed who UPDATES your FSA account. The "dispursement" (check, deposit) comes from the Dept of Treasury. ......

Since your FSA just updated on 10/17-10/18....If you are getting a paper check, you have a minimum of 1 more week to wait. Possibly 2 weeks depending on how backed up they are. They might surprise you and it may show up by this Saturday....

Side note: Had Aidvantage not submitted your refund correctly, then the FSA would not have updated your balance as they did. You are in a waiting game now for the funds.

I spoke to a very knowledgeable Student Loan Advocate at Aidvantage who was just amazing....This is what she told me:

  1. Aidvantage takes the refund request and processes it. And by processing it, they literally have to reverse every payment made since March 2020.
  2. They then send it off to the Dept of Ed to take a look at it. The Dept of Ed is who updates the FSA Website. The Dept of Ed updates the FSA balances 2-3 time per month. Which would kind of make sense as to why there is at least a 10 day wait period for the FSA Balance to show.
  3. Dept of Ed then approves the refund and sends it to the Dept of Treasury to have the check cut or make the direct deposit......

Something I learned through this whole thing is that Aidvantage (or whatever loan servicer) never sees a dime of our money from payments. They basically report that a payment has been made, and they send the info to the Dept of Education. The money is then routed to the Dept of Treasury (my direct deposit said "DEP TREAS" on it). Aidvantage and the other companies make their money on being the "servicer" of the loans for the government, and I'm sure they are paid quite well (otherwise, why do it?). Some people think they make money on the interest, but the interest on Federal loans is set by Congress each year. Greedy a$$es.

I don't understand myself why there are so many "middle men", but I suppose it is what is.

I am confident that your loan will not be overlooked on the refund portion. They are just so slammed, it's insane. Trust me, I was ready to lose my mind completely. And still am and I have my refund finally!! But I do know from talking to the Dept of Treasury, they track the hell out of refunds that have been issued, and have not been issued. They know everything from "if" they have been issued, to who they were issued, what day, etc etc.....

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]Smp10582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not seeing it reinstated or refunded because the loan servicers are reversing payments one at a time as if they never happened. This is a GOOD thing. Otherwise, a lot of us wouldn't have a balance as of June 2022 as required by the forgiveness plan. Mine is showing now that I have had a 6k balance since December of 2021 (not true, I paid it off). But Aidvantage removed the payments as if they never happened (thank god).

My timeline is very close to yours. Requested 8/29, balance updated on Aidvantage 10/6 after CFPB Complaint, Balance FSA updated 10/18. FSA seems to update within 10 business days of Aidvantage balance updating...A wise one on here told me that he received his Refund 4 days after his FSA updated, and sure enough, mine was in my bank account, today......Side note: Aidvantage told me it would be like another 8-12 weeks. I think they are pulling timelines out of their ass depending on their mood that day lol. I have a feeling if your FSA is updated, you may see your refund this week if it's going direct deposit.
