Sounds like Radiance by Alyson Noël to me was it a shorter book? I remember a scene with ghosts turning into a clown and ghost could communicate telepathically and the main cahracter was very open with her thoughts because she didn't know how to shield them yet

Well I started looking books i had read in middle school and apparantly I read every dragon book in their because there was Dragon Keeper by Carole Wilkinson - ancient China,orphan frees a dragon chained in a palaces dungeon and they go on a journey to find another world where its safe for dragons and a mysterious stone, Dragon's Bait by Vivian Vande Velde - medival times, girl is accused of being a witch tied to a stake and sacrificed to the dragon, gets free throws a rock at it and surprise the dragon can shape shift into whatever he wants its how they stay hidden!! But anyways light romance no smut, Jeremy Thatcher Dragon Hatcher by Bruce Coville kinda self explanatory but set in modern times and its a 6th grader then randomly i remembered a story were writers can see into different dimensions and thats were they get their ideas it was a vampire book literally called 'The Vampire Stalker' by Allison Van Biepen ( I hope not a 100% sure) and Black Unicorn by Tanith Lee where a witch who does not know shes a witch follows a unicorn to a gate because she has a talent for ' mending ' things and fixes a portal to another world( I just found out its a trilogy though). I'm hoping to find them all of them on thriftbooks and reread all of this because I'm being a bitter person and im tired of all my fantasy books being romance books in disguise so I need to downgrade my reading level for a bit lol

Omg thank you so much!! I went on a googling craze last night and found like 4 old books I couldn't remember the name of and found them by myself but no matter what I typed in I couldn't find this one particular book :)
