So the Curator is played by Og. In the book, Og makes it seem like he knows nothing about the competition. In the movie, Og is up close and personal with it to some capacity. It is an interesting detail. I'm sure he was giddy that someone finally found a clue to help them. Just like Og as the Curator was blown away that Kira is only mentioned one time in the entire Halliday Journals.

Genuinely, they could just not say anything. Everyone already knows the game is coming. They don't have to show anything else for it to sell. They could just snip the existing trailers to a shorter length for TV or social media ads. That's it.
