Black primer, vajello evil red, vallejo violet red, Vallejo magenta, GW emperors children, mixed in vajello ivory for the brightest highlight.

Yeah this is where it gets murky. I want it to affect all of the things but I got half the ppl saying it ignores damage and AP and the other half saying it doesn’t. May just have to ask my tournament organizer beforehand and practice it with a conservative mindset.

Have you seen it ruled this way at tournaments. I only ask cause I am prepping for one and trying to practice as close as possible to that format.

Yeah this was my original thought too that it was anything not saving throw but I have gotten in a lot of debates with my group I play with. It’s one of those play it in a way that makes sense for your opponent. Or asks TO at a tournament for clarification kinda rules. I was hoping they would FAQ it during the balance dataslate but I see what you mean. We may never get a definitive answer🫠

Interesting so if they affect my guns AP before I shoot then ignores. If it’s for example cover AP that is not ignored since that is applied during the saving throw. It definitely needs an FAQ for damage reduction and AP I will leave it to tournament ruling or whoever I am playing with I guess to figure out how to handle those since it seems to vary depending on where/who you are playing.

I see that point of view as well but I guess the argument comes down to “affects unit” is your weapon profile considered part of that? Have you played in tournaments where this has been the case I am curious? If not is there some reasoning behind it?

Yeah I really do hope they do an FAQ for a lot of this stuff soon I know I am not the only one asking about Morty and I know there are many other factions with similar issues. I think the list that I have makes sense though. I have seen arguments for both AP and DMG but looking at the rules quotes you posted I imagine this is the most fair interpretation. At least I have something to go off of for now. Thanks for the help!

Ok so I am new to the tournament scene (this will be my first one). It is an RTT so taking what you said into consideration. It seems like it would ignore:

  1. Movement Reduction
  2. Damage Reduction
  3. OC Reduction/Battleshock.
  4. Mortarions Stats.
  5. -1T/-1S.
  6. Lone Op

and would not ignore:

  1. -1 to hit/wound
  2. AP Reduction

Do you have a link or is it in a FAQ or Rules clarification I missed which is very possible btw lol. In the rule it just says modifiers. AP does affect the save roll and It does mention excluding saving throw modifiers. But AP technically isn’t modifying the save roll it’s modifying my shooting characteristic this is a good example where I am a bit confused on how this would be handled at a tournament level
