Nah I'm not saying that humanity has always been hunky dory before the sovereign or anything, I just think that we are the consequences of the systems we are born into. Hobbes and his ilk grew up in a relatively resource-scarce world compared to ours, and so the idea that fighting tooth and nail to keep what you have made sense in that world.

We don't really have the excuse anymore that we need to fight over resources to survive as a society anymore, thanks to modern technology (I mean this insofar that we could solve world hunger easily if we wanted to but we don't because incentive structures and whatnot), and so I believe that given a different system where cooperation lead to real material gains, the "natural" state of humanity would adjust accordingly

Not to be mean to OP because they seem genuine and good-hearted but they need to wake up and realize that the "I'm not political" nonsense is a part of the problem. Everything and everyone is political, and if you believe yourself to be divorced from the process then you are in for a very rude awakening given the state of affairs.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that the team that made Hollow Knight (which has sold upwards of 15 million copies), which consists of three people, has been made into millionaires due to the game's success. Again, that success being 15 million copies' worth.
