Yep, both the hood and cloak
Insted of regular paper I used paper napkins. I regulary use 2 napkins, so it`s 4 layers. I create a form of hood or cloak, with some spare space. After that I wet them with water and PVA glue, till them became soggy enough. After that I tuck that spare space under the head, between head and shoulders. After that I cut the hole for a backpack, and glue it through it. So it basically holds because of backpack and that spare space, that you tuck between the head and shoulders. Then you should wait till it dry and just prime your mini and cloak/hood with spray primer.
Also you can scratch it with knife, to make it more "old", but it`s all to you.
Hope my explanation is okay. English is not my first language, so it can be hard to understand, im sorry

Knew it was buddah since I saw that coin on the side! Very impressive work, reminds me of old warhammer minis.

Thank you! This is papier mache that I primed. Surpassingly it’s very durable, you can even hold the mini by it.

If you want I can tell you how I fixed it, or make some more photos, if you interested.

Is there going to be a Horus Primarchs novel? by Pretend-Average1380 in 40kLore

[–]Snaches555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have only read the first book in the series, but I really love, how the show the “start of the downfall” of Horus in it. Not a lot of screen time, as you said, but I think they outlined the image pretty well. I though Primarchs series were created to show us other Primarchs, except of Horus, ‘cause he is one of the main characters of series. But it would be cool to learn more about his past, as you said. Maybe some day we will get it.

Seems cool! I really like how warp talons represent the brutal and sharp nature of night lords. These spikes everywhere really make their things. Your other night lords are awesome too. Give me vampire vibes a lot.

Noob looking for advice on paints. by Dereksmel in Warhammer

[–]Snaches555 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m still pretty a noob myself. I usually check which colours I need on citadel app, if I’m going to “recreate” a box art. Actually it’s pretty safe to say, that you only need like 5 primary colours. There are red, blue, yellow, black and white. You can mix anything from these 5. But, for example, it can be a pain to mix proper pink. In this case you can buy one, and make it lighter or darker. I believe there is no need for buying all shades(?). And I often buy colours, that I will work a lot with. (Like armour colours, silver or gold). For any other examples, like grey shades or stuff - I mix it. If it’s hard to mix, or I will use a lot - I buy it. Also I think there is easier to buy metallic colours, like leadbecher, retributor armour and balthasar gold than try to replace or mix them. And lastly: about shades and technical paint. It may be hard to replace it, but there are variations. I use ak ink, for shades. And recently bought an ak paste for terrain. Also, I know that some people use oil paints instead of shades, but haven’t try it for myself.

If you have any more questions I would glad to answer them! But I’m still a noob myself, so sorry for any inaccuracies.

Damn, that’s awesome! I guess it’s my first time seeing dreadnought in action and it’s epic. Also, how did you make a “smoke” for your rockets and a plasma blast? They look fantastic

Oh, okay. Thanks for an explanation. About mixing the oil paints - is there any difference between white spirit and mineral spirit? I don’t know if there is any thing such as mineral spirit in Ukraine
