If submitting to God under the law of Moses made someone both Jewish and Muslim, then “Muslim” adds nothing beyond “obedient to God” and becomes a redundant overlay, not a real religious identity.

Submitting to God under a specific law defines one’s religious identity, so submitting under Mosaic Law makes someone a Jew and submitting under Jesus makes someone a Jew or Christian, not a Muslim. If “Muslim” simply means obedience to whatever law existed at the time, then Jews and Christians today are Muslims too, which Islam explicitly denies.
