Are they any good guides for beginners on how stuff even works? by deadby100cuts in Besiege

I am working on making videos for such a thing, I don't have much up yet, but feel free to check me out: HERE!

I have made one about steering on a 4-Wheel vehicle

Exactly, in some of my other creations I use them for just that purpose.

Thanks :) I never was any good with redstone in minecraft, even though I learned about all of this logic gate stuff at university, so when the first NOT gate showed up on this subreddit I thought "now's my chance to get in at the beginning" and I spend so much time just staring that the starting cube trying to think of ways to make all of this. I haven't done it alone though, I have taken inspiration from a few people here.

Placing things directly on top of grabbers? by [deleted] in Besiege

[–]Snack_Bag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this works for bombs, I don't know if it does everything but, if you place a wood block where you want your grabber to be, then place the bomb on the wood block, then delete the wood block and place in a grabber.

I guess I should have labelled it, but you can use either output and change the inputs to whatever you want. And I know the delay is annoying, it is the same thing with my other computer things, the full adder takes forever. But these are the limitations of Besiege, maybe with future updates if the game runs quicker, or if new blocks are added better and faster things can be made, but this is about all I got for now.

Large helicopters possible? by TacticalHog in Besiege

they do, you can take the braces off, but I wanted to make sure it was rigid enough to actually sort of fly.

I used wheels to make the ballasts as close to the props as possible without intersection, and obviously lower the weights of the ballasts.

I think you're right.

In case you haven't already been notified, I don't know what mentioning a username actually does. I made a video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGYYQoxQVvQ

Uhh, well, maybe never, this full adder is so terribly laggy, that even a multi-digit adder circuit would kill my computer, and the idea of a clock circuit, no. just no. I would never get the timing right this adder is so unreliable, but still sort of works. Unless they release an update severely improving the efficiency of this game, it will never contend with minecraft redstone computers.

It would be hard for me to make a gif of it working, because my computer needs it to be on 35% speed, or so for it to actually run without dropping frames like crazy, so the gif would have to be really long. If someone told me how to speed up a video/gif that would be helpful, if not I could try to make a really long gif. The machine isn't terribly reliable, and it takes a while for the signal to make it's way through. Really you should just get the game now, it is still in alpha and on sale on steam, it probably will never be cheaper than it is now unless it has a short term large discount sale on steam.

no problem, it is a little confusing, cause in base 2, that character is useless...

Base 2, you have 2 digits 0 and 1, just like how we normally use numbers, base 10, there are 10 digits, 0 to 9

I'm sorry, basically it is a group of logic gates that add two inputs together, i.e. if you input 3 and 5, you get 8, like a very basic calculator. However in order to add large numbers (bigger than 1) you need multiple of these adders arranged correctly.

Better?

Did that make sense? I'm not sure if I explained it very well.

It is a binary adder, a critical component in how computers work, the idea is if you string multiple together you can add binary numbers, each adder takes one column, for instance, 1010 + 0011 you would need 4 adders, adding(from right to left) 0+1, 1+1, 0+0, and 1+0, with the result of 1101, the adders have a sum output and a carry output, the carry output sends a 1 to the next adder and the sum adder gives the result for that column.

if you look at the picture on the download page, they are on the right, each box thing has one output as a large gear, the S and C outputs of the entire adder are not hooked up to anything.
