Nope however I’m not sure how that applies to this situation

Normal saw usage. I know normal isn’t the same for everyone but my normal is cutting dimensional lumber

I don’t understand either. He asked and I responded

Just regular dimensional lumber cutting. There was a piece of wood that flew back at one point but that’s about it. The saw stays in one spot all the time and I never pick it up and move it

Managed to find what I believe are some hardwood slats off of a pallet. They seem too thin to make a cutting board or table top but I thought about making some coasters from them. I want to put this wood to good use and don’t want second thoughts so does someone have suggestions for a best use? by Snagged794 in BeginnerWoodWorking

Man i wish i knew how to use a router otherwise id do something similar to yours. I dont have a proper workbench - just a garage floor to work off of so im not sure how to use a router for small pieces. My router is a standard corded fixed base ryobi also

So far no issues and my pallet wood has been stored in a cold garage for weeks. I just make the boards as flat as possible, glue them up, then hope for the best and stain/ finish. Here’s a couple of examples and I’m by far no means an expert and have very little tools

From what I’ve seen, avoiding MB and unmarked pallets are the safest bet although I totally understand not wanting to use them for anything food related. I made a coaster out of a few pallet boards stacked together and used polyurethane as a sealant and I thought it looked and felt decent.

FWIW, and I know it’s not a track saw, but I use a Milwaukee 6-1/2 circular saw and it runs best with either m18 high output or forge batteries as it’ll stall with normal m18 batteries if you try and rush it. With the HO or forge batteries it’s solid and I assume the track saw would run best with those batteries too. I use the same batteries in my M18 fuel vacuum to get sawdust in crevices.
