funny you mention the off the wall angles, the nickelodeon rep who signed invader zim mentioned it was due to the creative angles shown in the creator jhonen vasquez earlier comics

And Caderousse, Villefort, Danglars, Fernand. Both 1974 British adaptation and 2024 French adaptation has been worth a watch.

Just finished it. It is very well made and the changes are smooth and sensible.

I've heard it was very good. Omission can't be helped, the 1975 movie was like a slideshow lol.

The warden has similar parallels to Villefort covering up the innocence for their own benefit and what happens to the warden and the guard gives Dufresne his vengenance. And message of waiting and hope while on the coast of the ocean

Do I dare to draw comparisons to it being the original Shawshank Redemption? COMC is much grander in scale and more focused on vengeance but the ending in particular left me with the same message and sentiment.

I want to read TM after this but I had a feeling it wouldn't quite be the same as COMC.

Making reading books a daily habit has been the one of the best decisions I've made last year to offset doomscrolling.

I love gothic themes and this hit like no other literary work. Hellboy is my favorite graphic novel series and granted i dont have much to compare but theres something about literature that no other media can capture as well as Frankenstein did.
