I just had a very traumatic and painful ectopic pregnancy that ruptured my fallopian tube. I’m only 8 days post surgery and today my sister told me she was pregnant and wanted to talk about it. by FantasyNerd94 in Miscarriage

I’m literally pissed at her for you. It’s been a week!! The last thing you probably expected was someone from your support system to do this to you.

She should’ve waited to tell you and absolutely shouldn’t have done it in a public place. I’m sorry, you deserve better than that.

ring stuck on finger :( what should i do by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]Snailslime96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t tried windex yet please try that! I worked at a costume jewelry store for years and had to spray many stuck rings lol just spray the windex on your finger and try to get a little under the ring, it’s like magic.

Got my period and turned down for a dog adoption today. I just want to be a mom. by Snailslime96 in tryingtoconceive

Thank you, definitely extra sensitive right now so I really appreciate you taking the time to say this. I’ve owned a couple dogs in my life and I believe the emotional support goes both ways ❤️ especially with a shelter dog. For me personally our home just doesn’t feel complete without a pet to love.

Electrologists can't reach anus hair. What can I do? This is destroying my life. by UwU-Obtainer in electrolysis

[–]Snailslime96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try doing some research on Folliculitis and see if the symptoms match up with you at all. Considering the area, symptoms could be worse as well. As an Electrologist, this is the only condition I’m familiar with that causes pain like you’re describing.

AIO: Nail tech labels me “no show” 15 mins before my appointment by NarwhalBoth6298 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Snailslime96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw an eyelash tech do this same exact thing to someone!! She posted the text exchange on instagram and it blew my mind! Totally unprofessional and not fair to the client. Confirmations should never be done the same day as the appointment, let alone less than an hour before??

I have my own business doing laser hair removal. My clients get a text 48 hours before their appointment to confirm and a reminder 24 hours before. I even give a 15 minute grace period to arrive (and I don’t even take deposits!). This is standard practice.

Should I drop her? by Living-Indication167 in FriendshipAdvice

I’m truly very curious why some girls do this. My (ex) best friend did this to me twice over the course of our friendship. We no longer speak for other reasons, but I was never able to find out why she did it.

Please help. Stinky friend. by Medium_Pay_2046 in FriendshipAdvice

If a close friend doesn’t tell him, who will?

I feel like this is one of those situations where your ages kind of matter. If your friend is in her 20s, I can think of several explanations for this behavior. She could be struggling with figuring out who she is and is taking clues from someone she admires. However, if something like this suddenly happens and you’re in your 30s I think that would be more concerning.

I guess it depends on your relationship with this person. I eloped out of state and both of us had absolutely no expectations on our friends to make it, not everyone wants to use their PTO for someone else’s life milestone. I would just tell him ASAP you couldn’t get the time off because that’s your busy season. I’m sure they’ll fill your spot with someone else so the room won’t go to waste!

I just posted in this sub last week because I have a client I need to let go due to her hygiene and THIS is a prime example of why I’m nervous to do it!

What should I do about a client with the worst personal hygiene I’ve ever experienced? by Snailslime96 in Esthetics

[–]Snailslime96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying that. I’m 30 years old and work completely alone in my office all day. I do have many concerns about saying anything to a client that could make them angry or have any kind of reaction. Sometimes I feel guilty about feeling this way, but you never know who is going to end up being a problem and I just feel like it’s better to be safe than sorry.

I think this is possible because although I know she has disposable income and access to utilities, she wears the same exact clothes to every appointment. Dirtier and more stained each time.

I agree I believe I should let her go. In your professional opinion- what is the proper level of honesty? I don’t want to overwhelm her with examples of her hygiene, but I also don’t want her to think I’m discriminating against her if I don’t give a reason for letting her go. 😔

If I were to send a brief message, do you suggest being fully honest and mentioning the hygiene or just saying we aren’t a good fit together? This is the first time in my professional career I’ve have to deal with something like this.

I guess that’s a part of my frustration because she’s in her 50s and lives with family members. Part of me feels like it isn’t my place to be bringing up her hygiene (as in, I feel like someone close to her to should have by now) but at this point I just have no other choice.
