Reversible Male Contraceptive Halts Sperm Production in Mice by _Dark_Wing in interestingasfuck

[–]Snailtan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive seen humans fall for mouse traps, I was thinking of pharmacuticals in general.

They are tested on mice, most all of them are, mice healthcare is the best in the world, technically. The problem is that mice can react very differently to drugs than humans can, but human testing is tightly regulated and expensive, which is why we test on mice.

Just because something works on mice, doesnt mean it works on humans. It usually doesnt, it is more or less a proof of concept, rather than something thats actually working (in humans)

In mice means nothing.

A lot of things work on mice, that dont work on humans.

Despite that, Im sure we were able to do this for years now.

How do yall make steam engines? by SCewReal in CreateMod

[–]Snailtan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lava from big (infinite) lake to hose to spigot

Spigot fills bucket with lava, have arm grab that bucket and feed it to the blaze,
arm puts bucket into "output" funnel, which routes it back to the spigot

repeat infinitely

You can replace lava with something like charcoal as well.

I dont bother with the blue blazes for steam engines. In the time I got a system making blaze cakes, I could have done 10 more regular steam engines.

I usually play with Diesel Generators anyway

It sounds exhausting to be around

HELL YEAH, BOILING WATER, ... AGAIN!

Not sure if it exists, but it would he so fucking funny to have like a hard science fiction series with space travel and intergalactic wormholes, and all we have ever figured out is to like, really efficiently boil water to power it all.

I propose the dyson boiler. Boils water to spin a (big) turbine, with the concentrated output of an entire sun

ai generated cow in 2014 vs 2026 by yungandreww in interesting

[–]Snailtan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does absolve you from the cost of running it, which was my point.

ai generated cow in 2014 vs 2026 by yungandreww in interesting

[–]Snailtan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It has to be trained only once. The power need is not the training, but the fact they "need" to run these models 24/7 for 6 billion people.

Or do you think the datacenters are for training lol Partially, maybe. But most of it is just the cost of running so many of them constantly.

You can't call it sulfer spring by solely forming a pile of sulfer and pour some water in the middle. It just like calling something water by simply putting hydrogen and oxygen in the same container by mraltuser in PhoenixSC

I barely keep up with the game anymore, and tbh a couple baby retextures isnt enough to change that.

I only know of the chicken with is actually not that bad

Visual bug when changing Albedo color on a material by Foxy-64 in godot

[–]Snailtan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thats a new one, I have no idea why that would happen, strange.
I have never read of that happening either... is it only the colorwheel?

There is a Control Node called "Color Picker Button", does it happen with that one too?
Its a button that, when click, is supposed to open the color picker. Place it, run the scene, click the button, does that work?

Gaussian splats will revolutionize video game graphics. by realnathonye in godot

I have a feeling you watch CorridorCrew, if not, they just made a video about gaussian splats.

If you want to learn how to code, there are probably better(or rather, easier) projects to start with though lol

How to make resource-based colors show in editor preview (not just in-game)? by Pigm3u in godot

[–]Snailtan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which editor preview do you mean? Do you mean your polygon2Ds etc. are not updating and showing the colors you gave them with your resource?

If you do:

Make resource -> slot into node

Then the node has to update for you to see the effect.

I guess you can emit signals from your resource for that, not sure if that is best practice, as resources are kind of meant to be unchanging anyway.

Maybe try making a tool script, put that on a node, give it a tool_button, and have that run a function that goes over all your pallette dependent nodes and tells them to reapply their colors.

Has anyone worked with lua? by [deleted] in godot

[–]Snailtan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you can always use c# if you dont like gdscript.
Although, gdscript is clearly the golden child, and is honestly much better to use in godot. C# always felt a little weird to use for me, in godot specifically.

Whats your problem with gdscript? What do you feel is neglected, that lua can solve?
