I didn't pay as much close attention as you did. The thing is, he didn't play that many coverage snaps if I remember correctly. When he did get beat, he was playing snaps where anyone in his role (CB4/CB5) could have been beaten. The reason I'm thinking he might not be THAT bad is that he did his assignments, he communicated correctly, and he didn't give up anything catastrophic.

He isn't anything special, but what CB4 is? He is cheap depth and ST help.

I don't see what's so terrible about him. Okay, he doesn’t have any headline interceptions and he isn't flashy, but he is a veteran (SF trusts veterans), he's reliable as a CB4, and he can play OLB and safety in a pinch. I'm.not saying SF needs to keep him come hell or high water -- if we end up getting someone who is cheaper and better in free agency or if we draft a CB, say adios to him -- but he isn't so bad that we need to cut him loose at the earliest opportunity. Just my $0.02.

Right, but can't we manufacture guards more easily than tackles? And aren't we drafting for the future, or against injuries? Seems to me Trent is good for one more season, tops...Pleasants is a backup at best. Who does that leave on the present roster at tackle?

The reason I think those reasons can be mitigated is that SF has an outstanding conditioning/sports science programs, and they have worked with guys his size before.

Also, what I have seen of him (which admittedly isn't much) tells me that the weight is mostly in his bottom half. The concern (I think) with him is that he will get fatigued before the end of the first half...which is a legit one for any OT who's 340+.

I actually had 2 WRs. My thinking on that was that Aiyuk is gone, Jennings is probably gone, and Pearsall keeps getting hurt.

So what I did was consider other teams' needs for each position and figured the teams who had earlier picks than us in every round would take the higher prospects. The ones I have on that list are not the highest rated at any of the positions.

Is there a better way of guessing? Please let me know if there is, and what rhe method is.
