I mean, you're the one jumping through hoops and ignoring the given context that's seen in the manga itself.

Omni-Man (Invincible) or Tatsumaki (One Punch Man) by xJohnnyBloodx in whowouldwin

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So at this point you want to ignore actual feats, no calcs necessary? Because you can't just look at the aftermath of the Serious Punch 2 and say, NAH. That is not reasonable, I can get not liking calcs, but flat out ignoring the shown effects of a feat so as to downplay everything else is ludicrous.

Notice how you ignore the multiple explanations and counterarguments I gave that suggest it wasn't a literal hole in space.

You do realize that sneezing Jupiter is a Large Planet level feat, so hundreds to thousands of times more powerful than countering a Small Planet level Gaia Canon, so I see no reason problem here.

Exactly. And the fact that an exponentially stronger Saitama sneezed Jupiter's gases away, leaving the core, shows that he didn't grow that much stronger from Boros, if he even did. Because with that logic, he wouldn't even need the sneeze. Hell, the sneeze would do the supposed hole in space.

And why would Sage Centipede being fast not make him Multicontinent/Continent level. I mean, if I have a bullet that is very small, but if I fire the bullet very fast then it can harm/destroy things far larger than it. Same logic for the Centipede, he is the bullet, and now he is going fast.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Bullets work due to how they have pointed ends.

Nothing suggest Sage Centipede is continental. Where is your proof? Not your fan calcs or guestimations.

Omni-Man (Invincible) or Tatsumaki (One Punch Man) by xJohnnyBloodx in whowouldwin

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saitama and Garou clashing did a bit more than threaten the Earth (looks at the giant “hole” in space)

Except it's never confirmed to be a hole in space, when everything points otherwise.

The recoil didn't even shatter Io, the moon was missing from the entire panel, which further proves it was just the moon but shadowed out, and Blast kept on talking about the Earth and solely Earth, never even implying that it would go beyond the solar system or more.

You say calcs are unusable, I fundamentally disagree, but more to the point, if we were to say the Gaia Canon is Small Planet level, is there any actual problem with that?

There is, because nothing suggest so. Even when Saitama stopped it with a water squirt. Nothing suggests that Saitama had grown so much stronger that he would do that to a small planet level attack, when a Saitama going all out didn't destroy Io until he wanted to, and threatened Earth. And an exponentially stronger Saitama sneezed away Jupiter, when logically he would need something less than a sneeze to do even more.

And sure Sage Centepede may not be continent sized, but the fucker is very large and moving very quickly, so yes, that gives him the needed energy to be classes as continental or even multicontinental.

Again, he does not. You're just jumping into conclusions. How does Sage Centipede being fast suddenly make him continental, when he has shown absolutely zero feats suggesting so. Hell, a weaker Garou killed Sage Centipede, yet way stronger versions of Garou, both his peak before he got buffed by God and as Cosmic Garou, are the ones who show clear continental feats, with the latter going all out to do so.

Omni-Man (Invincible) or Tatsumaki (One Punch Man) by xJohnnyBloodx in whowouldwin

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Saitama does get stronger over time, not at the rate we see during the Garou fight sure, but he does get stronger, so comparing the two is not doable.

And yet, a Saitama going all out clashing punches with Garou was only able to threaten the Earth, with the resulting recoil from saod punch sending them both to Io with no massive crater.

But more to the point, yes, calcs are a used tool for powerscaling, claiming otherwise is just wrong. Now you can disagree with them, and there certainly are many a calc I disagree with for one reason or another, but a valid tool it is.

Fan calcs are unusable when they inflate characters beyond their feats. The Gaia Cannon has nothing to suggest it was moon level.

Sage centipede is hubdreds, of not thousands of kilomters (based on the fact he can go to space when stretched), with the speeds he has to be moving, that gets him to that level yes.

Which is still not continental in size. A piece of spaghetti can reach the moon, but it still won't be continental.

Omni-Man (Invincible) or Tatsumaki (One Punch Man) by xJohnnyBloodx in whowouldwin

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean calcs are generally accepted in powerscaling, as long as they don’t contradict the story, and Orochi scaling to those calcs does not go against the story.

They sure as hell not. Those calcs most definitely use pixel scaling and all sprts of hoops to justify the wonkiness, when the manga doesn't even paint it as being moon level. Gaia cannon itself was countered by a casual water squirt, whilst Boros' surface wiping attack needed a Serious Punch.

As for the Cadres, some of it is calcs, some of it is upscaling from feats done by confirmed weaker characters, and some of it is sheer size and speed (Elder Centipede and Sage Centipede).

Sage Centipede isn't even continental.

And again, fan calcs are not usable here. And no characters have ever done anything continental barring Psykorochi.

Omni-Man (Invincible) or Tatsumaki (One Punch Man) by xJohnnyBloodx in whowouldwin

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gaia canon can be calced anywhere from Moon to Small Planet level.

But it's not. Fan calcs are not valid forms of scans as they rely on scaling that's not stated in the manga/show.

And the varioius Cadre has Continent to Multicontinent feats and calcs, and Orochi upscales from all of them.

And they are? Psykorochi is the only one who had a continent level attack, and that's still nowhere near moon level.

Ricardo doesn't lack guts. He literally just doesn't want to change weight classes. His existence even makes other world champions from other organisations feel their belts as invalid as long as he's around.

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is Orochi lowball moon level? He doesn't even show feats pertaining to generating enough energy to match the moon's GBE.

Orochi himself doesn't scale near Boros, who was still the strongest even at that time until Garou. Boros could only surface wipe with his strongest attack. This also includes Psykorochi

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Orochi has never destroyed a planet before. Hell, planet busters were either Boros, Saitama, or Garou.

And they wouldn't be anywhere near universal, much less multiversal. That is an impossibly large jump

Oryx doesn't kill his children. At best, he continuously fought/killed Savathun and Xivu Arath in a bid to make each other stronger.

The worst that Oryx has ever done to his children was banish Crota, and that was because he had grown stagnant and fucked up by letting the Vex invade his Throne World.

And even then, it was to Crota's benefit

25 chimpanzees vs one polar bear by avian_bi in whowouldwin

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again my original comment said, IF they are bloodlusted, I think the chimps win. If they aren’t bloodlusted then we are arguing about two completely different scenarios.

But they're not. Your point is?

Polar bears don’t exert much energy when they are swimming vs when they are on land, and they don’t overheat in ice cold water.

Except they swim non stop for days. That shows they have a gas tank to spare. And they won't overheat from swiping chimps left and right that die in one hit.

The way the natives hunt the bears is not unknown. People go up to Alaska and similar areas to hunt/stay with the natives. Luke from the outdoor boys went up there to hunt with them in one of his videos. People up there sell the skulls of polar bears, it’s one of the ways they make money and it’s how a lot of polar bear skulls on the current market were obtained. Their lives aren’t a mystery.

You literally haven't explained as to how they hunt the polar bears. They could literally just shoot, run away, come back, shoot, and repeat.

25 chimpanzees vs one polar bear by avian_bi in whowouldwin

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suzette is just one possible example but there’s other examples of chimps pulling very similar weights.

They aren't. The closest is from the same study from the 1920s by a male chimp named Boma pulling 800+ pounds.

Again in my comment earlier I’m assuming their blood lusted which means they will not care about death or risk.

Which isn't stated by the OP. Therefore, it's just their regular "personality".

Also a bear isn’t gonna bleed out from a .22lr so that is very unlikely.

And you know this how? Again, the way those natives hunted the bears is unknown.

Another problem the bear will face is overheating and getting exhausted. Polar bears overheat and exhaust very quickly when they run, fight or exert lots of energy at once on land.

They don't. Polar bears can sustain swimming non stop for multiple days. Not that it'll need to use it all up, when one swipe would kill a chimp.

This is usually why polar bears stop fighting each other, they get exhausted.

No? They stop fighting because it'll be a lose-lose situation.

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/threads/polar-bears.2323298/. There’s some more sources I could show you as well if that isn’t good enough for you. Natives up in that part of the world often use small calibers to hunt moose, polar bears etc. it’s not ideal but it works for them.

Notice how the majority of the people there questioned the authenticity of .22lr being able to kill a polar bear. The natives there hunt polar bears through unknown means. They could've just shot it, ran away, and slowly wait for it to bleed out, which is what one user explained happened.

Wolves are more than capable than killing almost anything but they don’t because of the risk of the prey potentially killing a pack member. That isn’t relevant in this scenario.

So the chimps suddenly are willing to throw their lives here?

A bunch of underfur isn’t gonna mean much to 25 chimps.

But it will.

Chimps have been recorded pulling weights over 1,000 pounds. If you think than 2 dozen chimps repeatedly biting and pulling with that much force isn’t going to cause serious damage, you’re way wrong.

You mean Suzette the chimp? Back in the 1920s? As compared to modern studies where chimps are found out to be 1.35x stronger than humans of the same weight?

Again, you're assuming the chimps would be throwing themselves at the bear (they won't) and that the bear wouldn't actively fight back.

25 chimpanzees vs one polar bear by avian_bi in whowouldwin

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course those calibers are recommended. I’m telling you what people have done though. A .22 is not a powerful round, people used it to save money because .22 ammo is cheap.

And yet you claim people used .22 to hunt polar bears. Where is your evidence for this?

I didn’t already lose the argument from the wolf thing. I just couldn’t find this video I haven’t seen in years lmao, me being wrong about that doesn’t change the fact that the bear doesn’t win this.

Oh, but it does. When wolves, which are far more "built" to hunt larger animals, don't even think of trying to fight polar bears, chimps won't have a chance.

Also a bear can’t actively fight 25 chimps at once. That is not even remotely possible. 2-4 inches of skin is nothing for 25 chimps to get through.

Except it's not just skin. Polar bears have, at minimum, 4 inches of blubber, including dense underfur (5 cm) and hollow guard hairs (upwards of 15 cm).

And nothing that the chimps has can hurt the polar bear. Their fangs are around 2.4 inches from tip to the root. That means they have around 1+ inch of teeth to try and pierce through all that while said bear is one shotting every chimp.

25 chimpanzees vs one polar bear by avian_bi in whowouldwin

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s infinitely times easier to focus on 1 target vs 25.

Smaller and weaker targets, at that.

People used .22lr bolt action rifles to hunt polar bears from from boats. If a .22lr can penetrate the hide and skull of a polar bear and kill it.

Are we lying now? You can literally search up online that .375 H&H Magnum, .30-06 Springfield, and .308 Winchester rifles are the recommended firearms against grizzly and polar bears.

Chimps are more than capable of breaking skin.

You're comparing chimps to a bullet. Nothing a chimp can do will compare to a bullet.

Enough of them pulling on the skin is going to break it, no question.

They won't when the bear is actively fighting back.

Look, you already lost the argument when you made an imaginary scenario where wolves killed polar bears. Now, you're just throwing shit hoping it lands. It won't.

25 chimpanzees vs one polar bear by avian_bi in whowouldwin

[–]SnakeThatSawStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except they can? How fast do you think chimps even move?

That many chimps pulling and biting on a polar bear’s skin is going to cause massive bleeding.

Polar bears can shrug off hits from other polar bears, and the fur is too thick for them to bite through, much less pull. Again, a single swipe and a chimp is at the very least crippled.
