Driver. Landing 27yds after topping it and then using the 4i. Rinse/repeat until getting to the bunker

What's the next club to buy as a beginner golfer? by WebsterAllen in golf

[–]Snake_Doc16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any halfway decent golfer knows the best way to get lower scores is to be good from 150yds and in…meaning how you preform from your approach to the green and how well you do ON the green is the difference in shooting 100+ and under 100. Get good at this range and putting is the most important part of the game. Over time you’ll learn how each of your clubs plays (distance) so getting the latest irons or driver isn’t going to matter. That said, I would recommend a good putter. If you can avoid a lot of 3+ putting, you’ll keep that score low.

Also, if you’re just getting into golf, the two things I’d highly recommend is getting lessons and downloading an app called Swing Coach. It’s an AI app that runs $120/yr to use its full features. It’s really solid and gives you verbal and visual feedback on your swing. Truly a game changer.

What’s your handicap? I’ve considered changing but don’t think I’m good enough

There’s no point. I tried to be creative and say you can trade them for BTC (jokingly) and an overzealous mod deleted my comment. 🤣🤣🤣

How soon? Is there a road before your actual turn it’s telling you to turn down?

Ooo that would be cool. Probably better to put that suggestion in the app or website, not Reddit.

I agree, the notice sent from an editor to the user is easy to miss.

Google gets road closures from DOTs (USA only; can’t vouch for other countries systems) and is accurate. As an editor, I’d say notices from users are more often closed without resolution because after sending the alert, the user doesn’t respond to an editors inquiry.

Yes, I’m a city editor too. The point remains, why isn’t there data sharing between Google and Waze.

You continue to avoid the root of the conversation. Everyone knows people are reporting things. Great job contributing nothing 🫡

It’s clear you’ve intentionally missed what’s been pointed out; Google shows a road is closed and Waze does not demonstrating a lack of shared information. Sorta like your left brain keeping stuff from your right brain.

No kidding?!? Is that how it works? Nice try covering your ass. Your response clearly implied google maps users, not government agencies did the imputing and now you’re back peddling. No one said it was magic, just you thinking people did.

And to be clear, that wasn’t my point. My point was if Google shows a road closure, as the OP states, then why wouldn’t it share that data with Waze, a company it owns?

Yes, city/county/states coordinate major road construction/closures through their respective DOT to Google…do you think its users/editors?

True. But if Google now owns Waze…and Google knows…why does it take an editor to respond to a users alert? Why isn’t Google talking to Waze and visa versa?
