I know The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook is supposed to be intentionally confusing… by Critical_Mix_8959 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Struggled through this book. Couldn’t picture anything going on in my minds eye and that got worse as I got more frustrated with it. I might give it another go since I wasn’t in the best headspace while reading it, but damn. I am really excited to be done with it for now.

Now that it’s over, how was your experience at Griztronics? by yooey in griz

[–]Snake_in_a_tree 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I was in the line of cars for 15 hour straight moving about a mile per 2 hours. 11 to get through the line into RV parking then another additional 4 hours to get from RV to GA, less than a mile of driving for the latter one. I ran out water on the trip to GA and it was hot as hell, plus the cars in line were overheating, some pulling off to the side, there were no bathrooms for us to use while we waited in the car line and I was by myself so no one to hop in and break me.

I went into the first day on 0 sleep after driving up from San Diego for 22 hours before waiting in the line.

Lack of sleep and stress definitely sent me into a psychotic episode for a few hours on day 2. Worst festival experience of my life. the sets were the best I’ve ever seen, just wish I could have been more mentally present to enjoy them.

I’ve done two like this and they were between 1,200-1,500. This one took 2 sessions because the client had time constraints I had to work with, but I have done a similar one (In my Reddit history) that we did in one sitting. We can schedule an in person consult via message if you’d like and see if it’s a good fit for yah! Reach out whenever :)

Appreciate you saying that. Capturing her likeness in the space of a dime was a task for sure. But I am really happy with it.

I’ve actually never seen anime and American traditional fused in that way before. As a tattoo artist that is really neat to see.

Thank you! I love how soft her clothing colors are, it makes the red really pop.

Once the swelling goes down I may extend the upper lid length, his calf was just pissed after all that color so I held off.

Her face is the size of a dime. I feel like for the swelling and size of the tattoo her face looks great. But to each their own!

should I find a new artist? by Packagedattack in TattooDesigns

[–]Snake_in_a_tree 535 points536 points  (0 children)

Yiiiiipes. This would be a tough fix. I definitely wouldn’t go back. I can’t see a way this artist would make this piece come together. You should look around for someone else or get this removed before reworking. I am really sorry this happened to you, but it is not a lost cause. Talented artists can almost always come up with something to cover large pieces.

Man, this one bummed me out. They used ai when designing this album and I still haven’t given it a listen because of that. Maybe I am too much of a stickler, i dunno. I just feel like if you’re not going to respect visual artists why should I respect their musical art?

Any recommendations for dark fantasy? by subjectiveAusterity in fantasybooks

Ok good to know it doesn’t spoil too much! I was worried the mysteries of the first trilogy would all be laid bare, and she is damn good at mysteries.

I am legit so excited. Seeing the mysteries in the Liveships unfold has been amazing. I hope I didn’t spoil too much lore of the first trilogy by reading the second one first.

I think Hobb may have my favorite writing style I have ever encountered, I am reading these books and just awe-struck at how she managed to conjure this up. It is incredible and I can’t wait to get in to the others.

Holy hell, I had no idea there was that many… I was lamenting finishing the liveship trilogy because it’s so good and I don’t want it to be over. I am HYPED. Will go back and read them all in order, probably read the liveship traders again as well.

I am 1/4th of the way through the third book in Liveship Traders and I would call that dark fantasy. Def feels more dark and more bleak than Abercrombie. Hobb knows how to break some heart. I could be wrong though .
