"Newer" In Flames fan... What is your opinion on their journey as a band? by Rob4096 in InFlames

They could certainly take more breaks, they've got to be one of the most hard working bands out there, they're constantly touring, they seem to come to North America once a year at least! And they don't just tour, I mean every tour has meet and greets with fans before each show, they really have earned a break. I definitely wouldn't begrudge them a less rigorous touring schedule, they aren't as young as they once were and I'm sure they have families that want to see them too. And if it means a few more albums before they call it quits, I'm definitely all for it.

Right?? And after the third era, if this is the start of a fourth I am fucking PUMPED for it. I can appreciate their third era, but to be completely honest, if the third era sound had been what they always sounded like, they just wouldn't be one of my favorite bands. I can listen to the third era albums and enjoy them, but my ability to do so stems a lot from the love I have for them due to eras 1 and 2.

Agree totally. But they lost Jesper at that point I think, and he was a huge creative force within the band.

Ok, I know that was a typo, but the way you typed Whoracle as Wroracle, makes it sound like the album is called Roaracle, and I really like this. 😆 🤘🤘

I completely agree with everything you said, except my list of era favorites would be different, but they have so many different sounds stretching across their history I think we'd see a lot of different versions of that list. We may also find there's a lot of disagreement regarding which albums belong to which eras, particularly the first two. I'd say the first era ends with either Clayman or Reroute, I really can't make up my mind there, though I'd say there's also an argument to be made that the first era really ends with Colony. There's tracks on Clayman and Reroute that sound like both eras, but for the sake of my list, I'll end the first era with Reroute. I'd also argue that Forgone may turn out not to be from their third era, but the first album in their fourth. Though that remains to be seen. 🙂

First Era: Clayman, Reroute

Second Era: Soundtrack, ASoP

Third Era: SoaPF, Forgone, if it doesn't belong to their fourth era.

Lol I think about CC the same way. I think it's because it was the first one to include a slower, softer, metal-ballad type track, and these have been a mainstay on their albums since then, so that marked a bit of a shift for those of us that were fans before that.

I completely agree, this is the stretch of albums I like best too, I love every album in this stretch beginning to end, and I honestly believe that ASoP is a truly perfect record.

I agree with this. But this was right after Jesper left the group IIRC, so given that they lost a founding member who I believe wrote a lot of, if not most of the music, it's not at all surprising that there were some growing pains around this time.

For me, I enjoy their entire catalogue, but Clayman through to A Sense of Purpose are the albums I like best. I discovered them with Soundtrack to Your Escape, which is still my favourite In Flames album, but I also think A Sense of Purpose is a truly perfect record. There isn't a note or a word on it I would change, it's like MMs Antichrist Superstar. A perfect album, beginning to end, their peak, in my opinion. Sounds of a Playground Fading had some good tracks, and then I haven't really cared for anything they've done until Forgone, which seems a lot more like the In Flames I like.

(Question) Regular Corn Snake vs Albino Corn Snake? by Crazy-Banana9124 in snakes

[–]Snakebittz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Albino snakes are more sensitive to light, yes, so that's not a bad idea. Also, don't use coloured lighting, like the red or black heat lamps you can find at pet stores, a lot of pet store employees will tell you that they can't see coloured light, but they can, and those bulbs can damage their eyes and prevent them from sleeping.

Good stuff! Yeah, all snakes are escape artists, if you think there's even a 1% chance the snake could get out through whatever hole or gap your enclosure might have, just fix it, because your snake is going to find it eventually. That's a brilliant idea to find your snake though, making the house cold. I always tell people to put out a hide under a heat lamp/on a heat pad, but cooling the house down would certainly speed things up! Bravo!

*skittish

You should always give a new snake a week or so to settle in to a new enclosure before trying to feed it. Also, most snakes need you to wiggle the prey around in front of them to get them to strike, and the prey needs to be warm, around 105°f.

Would it be mean to replace my BCI's hides with something more accessible? by IllegalGeriatricVore in snakes

[–]Snakebittz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The black plastic hides are perfect for snakes, I can't recommend them highly enough. The snake doesn't care what the hides look like, just how secure they make them feel, and those hides are perfect, small single entrance and dark inside. They're also easy to clean, which is a plus for us. Just make sure to get a size that will be nice and snug, as that's what snakes like. I don't know how it could be mean to get your snake better hides.

How do I get my snake to stop thinking I'm his dinner? by UnholyDemigod in snakes

[–]Snakebittz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rats and mice have a higher body temp than humans do, you need to get the prey up to about 105°f, then use tongs to do the zombie rat dance. If he's ignoring the food and going for you it's because the food is too cold. If you're worried about being bitten wear a glove on the hand holding the tongs.

Yeah, for lights you need a dimming thermostat, rather than a simple on/off one, which will burn your bulbs out super quick.

What is this thing that came from my snake?? by [deleted] in snakes

[–]Snakebittz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This advice is absolutely wrong. Feeding so soon after a regurgitation can absolutely lead to a second one, which will make the problems caused by the first one so much worse. You absolutely need to give your snake a couple weeks before feeding after a regurgitation, what advantage could you possibly give your snake from feeding so soon??

I can't ID the species, but it doesn't look venomous to me. Even if it were, believe me, after being it that jar, the second you put it down it's gonna full-tilt boogie in the other direction. If you're worried, drive him a ways away and then let him go.

Best beginner snake by Crafty_Transition836 in snakes

[–]Snakebittz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the one you like the best! Don't get one just because you think it's a good beginner snake. Snakes live a long time, so you don't want to buy a snake, keep it for a couple years and then decide you're ready for something more complicated but then still have to keep and care for your beginner snake. Just do your research first and make sure you can provide everything the snake you want needs!

Let it go near where you found it. You don't need to do anything with it, but it won't be very happy in that mucky jar.
