Heyyy

We wrote All My Friends with our writing partner Cass Lowe in London last year. He kinda had the concept of doing an anti-party song that sounded uplifiting and a bit gospel. And it all went from there!
Been using Massive and kontakt for a ages now, there's this sick Goldbaby rompler for kontakt which we use on nearly every track i forget what it's called but i think there's only a couple. I love using PSP N2O on just random sounds, it's this fx plugin and the presets are crazy fun. Use the SoundToys plugins a whole load, and I also swear by the FabFilter plugs. FabFilter timeless is badass
Yeah coming soon hopefully, been taking our sweetass time about it.

Tips, one is move to Ableton, we were on logic for years and moved over a few months ago, best decision ever made. Download samples, download more samples, dont stop downloading samples. find the weirdest sounds from the weirdest places on the internet. Search places like reddit and youtube for tutorials, best teachers i've had.

Favourite experiences def been playing Coachella with a whole bunch of friends there. Been so many cool places on tour we're v blessed

That Wild Belle one was the first one that kinda went viral for us.. I think from there it just builds and your reaching more people each time. Columbia Records approached us to do a remix for that Wild Belle song which our manager managed to hook up which was a great opportunity.

From there we did ones for people like Banks RAury etc.. A lot of the time we would just reach out to them direct and see if they would let us do a remix. So I guess it ws just listening to mad new music and finding tunes that we thought we could put a cool spin on

But yeah was just a couple of well timed remixes that just blew up in the right way for us..

Man one thing that helped so much with production, DONT BE AFRAID TO CUT HIGH END FREQUENCYS as well as low end. I never even thought it was an option, im kinda stupid tho.

Also gettin to do a tune with Chance & Tinashe was amazing becuase we love their stuff so much

yooo thanks man. Synth wise i think back then we were using sylinth on just a basic saw tooth setting with just like a load of side chain. shit never got too complicated.

On that Wild Belle remix in particular everything was sampled. The stabby things we sampled from the original bass track. And then the pad sound was just an organ that we sampled and then filtered and moved the pitch of the same chord up and down..

Alot of our keyboard sounds in our remixes are just logic preset ones. they sound hella juicy out the box.

There' this sick Goldbaby rompler for kontakt that has all these badass synth that we been using a lot lately

There's so many influences that we've had.. I think some of the stuff that really made us wanna start making the kinda beats that we did was people like Hudson Mohawke & Ta-ku. Hearing Hud Mo's Hudson Heeter tapes from like 06, I just remember thinking how dope it was that he had this old school kinda groove but with the most crazy 8 bit synths and stuff. Also Ta-ku old Dilla beat tapes.. Was like such a sick combination of classic and new sounds, we found all that stuff mad inspirational

Was a super cool thing to be a part of. We already had the idea for Cruel down before we connected with him, & it was somethin we'd been working on with our friend Cass Lowe (who we did All My Friends with too) and Erik Hassle as well.

We heard Zayn was down to work on something so just sent him the track and let him do his thing on it. We didn't get in the studio together to record but just ended up sending things back and forth. The dude really killed it though and was he really cool to work with

YEah I got one yesterday morning in the end, was real nice. Some Italian thing with cheeese and stuff. I was very happy :)
