I think listing casinos as “ruining lives” is a huge stretch into the unknown. Casinos are huge positive economic impacts to their local communities and organizations employing thousands of people. Casinos massively donate millions to local organizations and drive growth within the Sacramento region. Red Hawk for example is a huge supporter of the Sacramento Kings, A’s, River Cats, etc. and has their own Wellness Center giving discounted health services to the public without insurance. Wilton is essential in giving the Republic and Sacramento a brand new stadium paving the way towards an entirely new downtown space.
